This article reports a simple and inexpensive leak-proof paper pad with an initial selection of a paper substrate on the grounds of surface morphology and fluid absorption time. Herein, a drying method is used for glucose detection on a paper pad through colorimetric analysis, and the spot detection of glucose is analyzed by optimizing the HRP concentration and volume to obtain accurate results. The rapid colorimetric method for the detection of glucose on the paper pad was developed with a limit of detection (LOD) of 2.

The basic properties of blockchain, such as decentralization, security, and immutability, show promising potential for IoT applications. The main feature-decentralization of blockchain technology-depends on the consensus. However, consensus algorithms are mostly designed to work in extensive computational and communication environments for network security and immutability, which is not desirable for resource-restricted IoT applications.

The inhalation toxicology of multifaceted particulate matter from the environment, cigarette smoke, and e-cigarette liquid vapes is a major research topic concerning the adverse effect of these items on lung tissue. In vitro air-liquid interface (ALI) culture models hold more potential in an inhalation toxicity assessment. Apropos to e-cigarette toxicity, the multiflavor components of the vapes pose a complex experimental bottleneck.

Biomimetic materials for hard and soft tissues have advanced in the fields of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine in dentistry. To examine these recent advances, we searched Medline (OVID) with the key terms "biomimetics", "biomaterials", and "biomimicry" combined with MeSH terms for "dentistry" and limited the date of publication between 2010-2020. Over 500 articles were obtained under clinical trials, randomized clinical trials, metanalysis, and systematic reviews developed in the past 10 years in three major areas of dentistry: restorative, orofacial surgery, and periodontics.

Nanoemulsions (NEs) or nanometric-scaled emulsions are transparent or translucent, optically isotropic and kinetically stable heterogeneous system of two different immiscible liquids namely, water and oil stabilized with an amphiphilic surfactant having droplet size ranges up to 100 nm. They offer a variety of potential interests for certain applications: improved deep-rooted stability; excellent optical clarity; and, enhanced bioavailability due to its nanoscale of particles. Though there is still comparatively narrow insight apropos design, development, and optimization of NEs, which mainly stems from the fact that conventional characteristics of emulsion development and stabilization only partly apply to NEs.
