Aim: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) has emerged as a global public health concern. People with the most advanced stage of CKD require renal replacement therapies, either dialysis (the focus of this study) or a kidney transplant. Research on CKD has primarily focused on its clinical, epidemiological, and public health aspects.

Introduction: Research on the association between blood groups and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) in Africa, including Algeria, is notably limited, with a primary focus on blood donors. This narrow scope hinders a comprehensive understanding of the genetic diversity of blood groups and their potential links to CVD risk within the African context. To bridge this knowledge gap, this study proposes to investigate the distribution of blood group genotypes and their association with CVD prevalence, aiming to enhance knowledge within the African context and contribute to global insights into the relationship between blood groups and CVD.

Long-acting antiretroviral treatment (LA ART) is a forthcoming option for adolescents and young people living with HIV (AYPLHIV), but perspectives on using peer mentors to implement LA ART for AYPLHIV are unknown. We conducted seven focus group discussions ( = 58 participants) from November 2021 to April 2022 in Kenya with four stakeholder groups, including AYPLHIV, healthcare providers, advocates, and policymakers. We used inductive coding and thematic analysis.

Purpose: Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a complex systemic fibroinflammatory condition with different clinical manifestations affecting multiple organ systems. Despite its rarity, the disease presents diagnostic and therapeutic challenges due to its mimicry of malignancies and other immune-mediated disorders. The 2019 American College of Rheumatology/European League Against Rheumatism Classification Criteria for IgG4-Related Disease is the current state of art to confirm the diagnosis of IgG4-RD even in the absence of histological analysis.

Potassium-ion batteries (KIBs) have attracted significant attention in recent years as a result of the urgent necessity to develop sustainable, low-cost batteries based on non-critical raw materials that are competitive with market-available lithium-ion batteries. KIBs are excellent candidates, as they offer the possibility of providing high power and energy densities due to their faster K diffusion and very close reduction potential compared with Li/Li. However, research on KIBs is still in its infancy, and hence, more investigation is required both at the materials level and at the device level.
