Capacity development has become an embedded component of the aid package offered by international organisations responding to humanitarian crises. The effectiveness of capacity development is, however, rarely monitored or examined. What is more, the local context and the learning preferences of trainees appear often to be overlooked. Yet, the informal construction sector is thriving throughout the world. Using a case study of Nepal, where construction and post-earthquake reconstruction projects are largely delivered by the informal construction sector, this paper analyses, therefore, how and whether informal construction workers successfully develop capacity and utilise trainings to create more disaster-resilient buildings. It goes on to assess how one can draw on the learning preferences of Nepalese construction workers to improve the effectiveness and the sustainability of capacity development initiatives. Lastly, the paper highlights that training programmes informed by the context and the preferred learning style of disaster-affected communities promote and sustain capacity development efforts.

Boredom and curiosity are common everyday states that drive individuals to seek information. Due to their functional relatedness, it is not trivial to distinguish whether an action, for instance in the context of a behavioral experiment, is driven by boredom or curiosity. Are the two constructs opposite poles of the same cognitive mechanism, or distinct states? How do they interact? Can they co-exist and complement each other? Here, we systematically review similarities and dissimilarities of boredom and curiosity with respect to their subjective experience, functional role, and neurocognitive implementation.

Unlabelled: The field of competitive swimming lacks broadly applicable predictive models for talent identification across various age groups of adolescent swimmers. This study aimed to construct a predictive model for athletic talent using machine learning methods based on anthropometric and physiological data. Baseline data were collected from 5444 participants aged 10-18 in Shanghai, China, between 2015 and 2018, with 4969 completing a 3-year follow-up.

Unlabelled: The internet significantly impacts the occurrence and prevalence of cyberchondria because it provides easy access to a large amount of health data that can describe any medical condition in detail. Cyberchondria develops due to exposure to the vast and easily accessible online health information that causes health worries.
Objectives: To assess the prevalence of cyberchondria among Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) students and determine the impact of patient skepticism on medical decisions.
The rollout of electric vehicles and photovoltaic panels is essential to mitigate climate change. However, they depend on technology-critical elements (TCEs), which can be harmful to human health and whose use is rapidly expanding, while recycling is lacking. While mining has received substantial attention, in-use dissipation in urban areas has so far not been assessed, for example, corrosion and abrasion of vehicle components and weather-related effects affecting thin-film photovoltaic panels.

Background: Self-narratives about traumatic experiences and symptoms are informative for early identification of potential patients; however, their use in clinical screening is limited. This study aimed to develop an automated screening method that analyzes self-narratives of early adolescent earthquake survivors to screen for PTSD in a timely and effective manner.
Methods: An inquiry-based questionnaire consisting of a series of open-ended questions about trauma history and psychological symptoms, was designed to simulate the clinical structured interviews based on the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, and was used to collect self-narratives from 430 survivors who experienced the Ya'an earthquake in Sichuan Province, China.
