Purpose: The purpose of this review study is to investigate the effect of curcumin on the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (Akt) signaling pathway in various diseases. Curcumin, the main compound found in turmeric, has attracted a lot of attention for its diverse pharmacological properties. These properties have increased the therapeutic potential of curcumin in chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes, obesity, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, kidney disease, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Diabetes insipidus (DI) is a rare endocrine disease involving antidiuretic hormone (ADH), encompassing both central and nephrogenic causes. Inability to respond to or produce ADH leads to inability of the kidneys to reabsorb water, resulting in hypotonic polyuria and, if lack of hydration, hypernatremia. DI cannot be cured and is an unfamiliar disease process to many clinicians.

This descriptive longitudinal study aims to assess the risk factors for severe thoracic and lumbar vertebral compression fractures before and after surgery, contributing to preventive knowledge enhancement in communities and effective treatment management. The study involved 34 patients diagnosed with thoracic and lumbar vertebral compression fractures requiring surgery with bio-cement-augmented pedicle screws between June 2021 and June 2022. Postoperative complications, notably adjacent segment injury, were monitored, and patients received osteoporosis management post-surgery.

Aims: The sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor canagliflozin reduces the risk of heart failure (HF) hospitalization or cardiovascular death and chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression among patients with type 2 diabetes at high cardiovascular risk or with CKD. Patients with type 2 diabetes commonly have coexisting HF or CKD that require treatment with loop diuretics; however, the prognostic implications of oral loop diuretic intensification are not well characterized.

Methods And Results: In this participant-level pooled analysis of the CREDENCE and CANVAS trials (not including CANVAS-R), 1454/8731 (16.
