Objectives: To evaluate general practitioners' (GPs') ability to perform focused lung ultrasound (FLUS) following a training program and assess FLUS feasibility in general practice. Also, to describe FLUS findings and evaluate GPs' ability to interpret these in adults with acute lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI) when pneumonia is suspected and assess GPs' perception of FLUS impact.
Methods: Nine GPs, using point-of-care ultrasound, completed a FLUS training program.

Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) occurs in up to 50% of cardiac surgical patients and is often hemodynamically mediated. Point-of-care ultrasound is a non-invasive tool that has the potential to characterize intrarenal hemodynamics and predict the risk of AKI.
Objectives: We aimed to determine the predictive characteristics of intrarenal arterial and venous Doppler markers for postoperative AKI in cardiac surgical patients.

A time-sensitive, sight-threatening ocular condition presenting at an emergency department can be safely diagnosed promptly by ocular ultrasonography (OUS). OUS is a quick, safe, and portable option for assessing severe tissue damage to the periorbital area. OUS can help identify patients who need immediate ophthalmology consultation in a busy setting or when direct ophthalmic examination is unavailable.
