Fluorescence microscopy has emerged as an attractive technique to probe the intracellular processing of Pt-based anticancer compounds. Herein, we reported the first through-bond energy transfer (TBET) fluorescent probe NPR1 designed for sensitive detection and quantitation of Pt complexes. The novel TBET probe was successfully applied for ratiometric fluorescence imaging of anticancer Pt complexes such as cisplatin and JM118 in cells. Capitalizing on the ability of the probe to discriminate between Pt complexes and their Pt derivatives, the probe was further applied to study the activation of Pt prodrug complexes that are known to release active Pt species after intracellular reduction.

After cyclo-pentazolate anion, a 5/6 fused structure of N is constructed, and four novel nitrogen-rich ionic compounds are assembled on its basis. The results of the quantum calculations revealed an uneven distribution of electrons on cyclo-N , with significant charge density near the N5/N9 atoms and an ADCH charge of -0.425.

The energies and geometries of the lowest lying singlet and triplet states of the four diradicals formed by removing two H atoms from thiophene have been characterized. We utilized the highly correlated, multireference methods configuration interaction with single and double excitations with and without the Pople correction for size-extensivity (MR-CISD+Q and MR-CISD) and averaged quadratic coupled cluster theory (MR-AQCC). CAS (8,7) and CAS (10,8) active spaces involving σ, σ*, π, and π* orbitals were employed along with the cc-pVDZ and cc-pVTZ basis sets.

Understanding electron transport in self-assembled monolayers on metal nanoparticles (NPs) is crucial for developing NP-based nanodevices. This study investigates ultrafast electron transport through aromatic molecules on NP surfaces resonant Auger electron spectroscopy (RAES) with a core-hole-clock (CHC) approach. Aromatic molecule-coated Au NPs are deposited to form condensed NP films, and flat monolayers are prepared for comparison.

A benzofuran-[]-fused BODIPY trimer has been efficiently synthesized, featuring a unique structural design that harmoniously integrates TBET (through bond energy transfer) and PET (photo-induced electron transfer) mechanisms. This trimer boasts exceptional optical properties, including a large pseudo-Stokes shift of 100 nm, an impressive fluorescence quantum yield ( = 0.931), an outstandingly high extinction coefficient (182 100 M cm), a remarkable FEF (fluorescence enhancement factors, 22.

Dividing orbital interactions into through-space (TS) and through-bond (TB) modes is valuable for understanding various molecular properties. In this paper, we elucidate how the quantum interference phenomenon known as σ interference in electron transport through σ systems arises from TS and TB interactions. We performed electron transport calculations using a combination of density functional theory and nonequilibrium Green's function methods, focusing on ethylenediamine, a classical molecule that effectively highlights the contrast between TS and TB interactions.
