Objectives: Language is a critical aspect of human cognition and function, and its preservation is a priority for neurosurgical interventions in the left frontal operculum. However, identification of language areas can be inconsistent, even with electrical mapping. The use of multimodal structural and functional neuroimaging in conjunction with intraoperative neuromonitoring may augment cortical language area identification to guide the resection of left frontal opercular lesions.

Background: Radiation-induced sarcoma (RIS) is an exceptionally rare occurrence following radiation therapy, and manifestation usually occurs after a several-year latency period. Herein, the authors report the development of a radiation-induced osteosarcoma of the frontoparietal calvaria following treatment for an oligodendroglioma in an 84-year-old woman.
Observations: The patient had been diagnosed with a grade III anaplastic oligodendroglioma when she was 78 years old.

Background: Risk factors and mechanisms of cognitive impairment (CI) after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) are unclear. This study used a neuropsychological battery, MRI, ERP and CSF and plasma biomarkers to predict long-term cognitive impairment after aSAH.
Materials And Methods: 214 patients hospitalized with aSAH (n = 125) or unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIA) (n = 89) were included in this prospective cohort study.

Noninvasive methods for intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring have emerged, but none has successfully replaced invasive techniques. This observational study developed and tested a machine learning (ML) model to estimate ICP using waveforms from a cranial extensometer device (brain4care [B4C] System). The model explored multiple waveform parameters to optimize mean ICP estimation.

Objectives: (1) Gain insight into the mechanisms of postoperative delirium (POD). (2) Determine mechanistic overlap with post-ictal delirium (PID). Epilepsy patients undergoing intracranial electrophysiological monitoring can experience both POD and PID, and thus are suitable subjects for these investigations.
