Circulating tumor-related materials (CTRMs) shed from original or metastatic tumors, carry a lot of tumor information and are considered as important markers for cancer diagnosis and metastasis prognosis. Herein, we report a colorimetric detection strategy for CTRMs based on aptamer-based magnetic isolation and endogenous alkaline phosphatase (AP)-signal amplification. This strategy exhibited high sensitivity and selectivity toward the CTRMs that express AP heterodimers (the target of aptamer, a potential tumor marker). For clinical samples, this CTRM assay significantly discriminated colorectal cancer patients ( = 50) from healthy individuals ( = 39, < 0.0001). The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis indicated the sensitivity and specificity reached 92% and 82%, respectively, at the optimal cutoff point, the area under the curve of ROC reached 0.93, suggesting great potential for colorectal cancer diagnosis and therapeutic monitoring. Compared with CTC assays, this strategy is simple and has the potential for point-of-care testing.

Cancer metastasis is responsible for more than 90% of tumor-related deaths. Especially, metastatic breast cancer (MBC) is a common malignancy with a high mortality among women worldwide. It is urgent to develop effective drugs for the treatment of MBC.

Background: Exosomes are closely associated with different aspects of tumor-progression in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), such as angiogenesis or immune regulation. As extracellular vesicles they are involved in the intercellular communication by transferring their cargo such as proteins and nucleic acids from one cell to another. However, the influence of tumor related plasma-derived exosomes on the polarization and characteristics of monocyte derived macrophages is not fully understood.

Liver cancer is the second leading cause of tumor-related death worldwide, and a serious threat to lives and health. Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) facilitate the progression of various cancers, including liver cancer. The relationship between CTC/circulating tumor microemboli-related genes (CRGs) and the prognosis of liver cancer is unclear.

Purpose: Inflammation and neutrophils play a central role in both COVID-19 disease and cancer. We aimed to assess the impact of pre-existing tumor-related inflammation on COVID-19 outcomes in patients with cancer and to elucidate the role of circulating neutrophil subpopulations.

Methods: We conducted a multicenter retrospective analysis of 524 patients with cancer and SARS-CoV-2 infection, assessing the relationship between clinical outcomes and circulating inflammatory biomarkers collected before and during COVID-19 infection.

Background: Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is the most common type of lung cancer, and its pathogenesis remains not fully elucidated. Inflammation and metabolic dysregulation are considered to play crucial roles in LUAD development, but their causal relationships and specific mechanisms remain unclear.

Methods: This study employed a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) approach to systematically evaluate the causal associations between 91 circulating inflammatory factors, 1,400 serum metabolites, and LUAD.
