Pediatric CT angiography (CTA) can be useful for assessing numerous congenital and acquired disorders. This article discusses common pediatric applications of thoracoabdominal CTA, including for congenital pulmonary airway malformation, sequestration, vascular rings, aortic coarctation, pulmonary embolism, nontraumatic hemorrhage, abdominal transplant evaluation, and several vascular disorders, and highlights key clinical and imaging features. With appropriate use, CTA can play a fundamental role in diagnostic and preprocedural assessment in a variety of pediatric conditions.

Organic dyes play a crucial role in live-cell imaging because of their advantageous properties, such as photostability and high brightness. Here we introduce a super-photostable and bright organic dye, Phoenix Fluor 555 (PF555), which exhibits an order-of-magnitude longer photobleaching lifetime than conventional organic dyes without the requirement of any anti-photobleaching additives. PF555 is an asymmetric cyanine structure in which, on one side, the indole in the conventional Cyanine-3 is substituted with 3-oxo-quinoline.

Background: CblC type methylmalonic aciduria (cblC disease) is the most common inborn error of vitamin B12 metabolism and due to mutations in the MMACHC gene. The earlier the diagnosis, the better the prognosis. Therefore, convenient and inexpensive detection method is needed.

Background: Equipping parents with play skills can foster child development. This study examined the effects of Power of Play Parent Intervention, a short, online, asynchronous, play skill enhancement program, on the frequency of total parent-child play, parents' attitude towards play, and children's screen time in Thailand.

Methods: From September to December 2023, 112 parents of children aged 12-36 months from social media platforms were block-randomized into two-arm, parallel groups (56 intervention and 56 waitlist control).

Preeclampsia (PE) is a major pregnancy-specific cardiovascular complication posing latent life-threatening risks to mothers and neonates. The contribution of immune dysregulation to PE is not fully understood, highlighting the need to explore molecular markers and their relationship with immune infiltration to potentially inform therapeutic strategies. We used bioinformatics tools to analyze gene expression data from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database using the GEOquery package in R.

Intranasally administrated fusion-inhibitory lipopeptides block SARS-CoV-2 infection in mice and enable long-term protective immunity.

We have assessed antiviral activity and induction of protective immunity of fusion-inhibitory lipopeptides derived from the C-terminal heptad-repeat domain of SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein in transgenic mice expressing human ACE2 (K18-hACE2). The lipopeptides block SARS-CoV-2 infection in cell lines and lung-derived organotypic cultures. Intranasal administration in mice allows the maintenance of homeostatic transcriptomic immune profile in lungs, prevents body-weight loss, decreases viral load and shedding, and protects mice from death caused by SARS-CoV-2 variants.
