Aim: To evaluate the prediction of peritumoral and intratumoral radiomics for visceral pleural invasion (VPI) in lung adenocarcinoma cancer (LAC) based on preoperative computed tomography (CT) radiomics.

Materials And Methods: In total, 350 patients with LAC confirmed by surgery pathology were enrolled in The Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University, including 281 VPI negative patients and 69 VPI positive patients, were divided into the training cohort (n = 280) and validation cohort (n=70) at random with a ratio of 8:2. We extracted the radiomics features from the 3 region of interest (ROI), including gross tumor volume (GTV), the gross peritumoral tumor volume (GPTV) and the gross volume of the tumor rim (included the outer 4 mm of the tumor and 4mm of the tumor adjacent lung tissue on either side of the tumor contour boundary, GTR).

Clinical efficacy evaluation and safety study of Qishen Tongmai Yin I combined with moxibustion therapy on ASO: A retrospective study.

Medicine (Baltimore)

November 2024

Rehabilitation Department of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, Beijing Xiaotangshan Hospital Beijing, Beijing, China.

This study aimed to assess the therapeutic efficacy of moxibustion assisted therapy in combination with Qishen Tongmai Yin No. 1 on arteriosclerosis obliterans (ASO) patients. The impact on clinical symptoms, sign scores, foot dorsum temperature, foot dorsum artery blood flow, and overall clinical efficacy were analyzed.

Introduction: Breast pseudoaneurysm is a rare complication following breast interventional procedures such as core biopsies and vacuum-assisted biopsies. The occurrence of pseudoaneurysm increases with the conditions of increased breast vascularity like cancer, pregnancy and lactation.

Case Report: We present two cases of pseudoaneurysm formation secondary to core biopsies of the breasts.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the associated production of Higgs and W bosons, focusing on how the relative signs of the Higgs couplings to W and Z bosons impact the process.
  • Two specific searches were conducted using large amounts of collision data from the LHC to analyze different coupling scenarios: one for opposite-sign couplings and another for same-sign (standard model-like) couplings.
  • The results significantly exclude the opposite-sign coupling hypothesis and set a strict upper limit on the production rate of this process compared to standard model predictions.

Pseudoaneurysm in the Axillary Tail of the Breast After A Core Needle Biopsy.

Eur J Breast Health

September 2024

Department of Radiology, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Sylvester Cancer Center, and Jackson Memorial Hospital, Florida, USA.

We present the case of a forty-year-old asymptomatic female with no personal or family history of breast cancer, who underwent a core needle biopsy (CNB) following the identification of a focal asymmetry in the right breast on screening mammography. Eight months later, a prominent adjacent vascular structure with a round outpouching was detected on breast ultrasound, confirmed as a post-biopsy pseudoaneurysm. Breast pseudoaneurysms, although exceedingly rare, result from inadvertent vessel puncture during core needle biopsies, particularly when larger gauge needles are used.
