Chemiluminescence (CL) has recently been featured as a new external light source for various photoinduced reactions with attractive features such as eliminating continuous energy supply and advanced light source setups. In the present study, the free-radical-promoted cationic polymerization of cyclohexene oxide, n-butyl vinyl ether, and N-vinyl carbazole under CL irradiation is described. The method is based on the visible-light-induced generation of electron donor radicals from bis-(4-methoxybenzoyl)diethyl germane (BAG), bis(2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl) phenyl phosphinate, and camphorquinone by CL illumination followed by electron transfer to diphenyl iodonium hexafluorophosphate (Ph I PF ) to form corresponding cations capable of initiating cationic polymerization. The applicability of the process to network formation is also demonstrated by using a bifunctional monomer, tri(ethylene glycol) divinyl ether.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a health problem due to multi-drug resistance (MDR). Codelivery of multiple oncotherapy in one cargo as chimeric cancer therapy (CCT) is suggested as a solution for MDR. This study aims to engineer chitosan-coated nanostructure lipid carriers (NLCs) loaded with gefitinib (GF) and simvastatin (SV) as CCT for HCC.

2D Dion-Jacobson (DJ) chiral perovskite materials exhibit significant promise for developing high-performance circularly polarized light (CPL) photodetectors. However, the inherently thick nature of DJ-phase 2D perovskite single crystal limits their ability to differentiate CPL photons with the two opposite polarization states. In addition, the growth of DJ-phase perovskite single crystal thin films (SCTFs) has proven challenging due to the strong interlayer electronic coupling.

In recent years, the use of cationic peptides as alternative drugs with anticancer activity has received attention. In this study, the targeted release of curcumin (Cur) and CM11 peptide alone and together against hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) was evaluated using chitosan nanoparticles (CS NPs) coated with Pres1 that target the SB3 antigen of HCC cells (PreS1-Cur-CM11-CS NPs). SB3 protein is the specific antigen of HCC and the PreS1 peptide is a part of the hepatitis B antigen, which can specifically bind to the SB3 protein.

Non-viral vectors have gained recognition for their ability to enhance the safety of gene delivery processes. Among these, polyethyleneimine (PEI) stands out as the most widely utilized cationic polymer due to its accessibility. Traditional methods of modifying PEI, such as ligand conjugation, chemical derivatization, and cross-linking, are associated with intricate preparation procedures, limited transfection efficiency, and suboptimal biocompatibility.

A simple and non-chemical binding nanofiber (-CD/PA) adsorbent was obtained by electrospinning a mixture of -cyclodextrin (-CD) and polyacrylate (PA). The cationic dyes in wastewater were removed by the host-guest inclusion complex of the -cyclodextrin and the electrostatic interaction between the polyacrylate and the dyes groups. The influence of the content of -cyclodextrin on the surface morphology and adsorption capacity of the nanofiber membrane was discussed, and the optimized adsorption capacity of nanofiber adsorption material was determined.
