Burkitt leukemia (BL) represents a highly aggressive lymphoma characterized by proliferation rates of around 100%, and a frequent spread into the central nervous system. If standard frontline chemotherapy fails, the prognosis is usually dismal, and reports on successful effective salvage therapy strategies for patients with relapsed/refractory BL are scant. Here, we report on a 40-year-old female patient who suffered an early relapse of BL three months after the completion of frontline chemoimmunotherapy.
