Quantum chaos refers to signatures of classical chaos found in the quantum domain. Recently, it has become common to equate the exponential behavior of out-of-time order correlators (OTOCs) with quantum chaos. The quantum-classical correspondence between the OTOC exponential growth and chaos in the classical limit has indeed been corroborated theoretically for some systems and there are several projects to do the same experimentally. The Dicke model, in particular, which has a regular and a chaotic regime, is currently under intense investigation by experiments with trapped ions. We show, however, that for experimentally accessible parameters, OTOCs can grow exponentially also when the Dicke model is in the regular regime. The same holds for the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model, which is integrable and also experimentally realizable. The exponential behavior in these cases are due to unstable stationary points, not to chaos.

Pseudouridine (Ψ) is an abundant RNA chemical modification that plays critical biological functions. Current Ψ detection methods are limited in identifying Ψs at base-resolution in U-rich sequence contexts, where Ψ occurs frequently. Here we report "Mut-Ψ-seq" that utilizes the classic N-cyclohexyl N'-(2-morpholinoethyl)carbodiimide (CMC) agent and an evolved reverse transcriptase ("RT-1306") for Ψ mapping at base-resolution.

This paper presents a surrogate-assisted global and distributed local collaborative optimization (SGDLCO) algorithm for expensive constrained optimization problems where two surrogate optimization phases are executed collaboratively at each generation. As the complexity of optimization problems and the cost of solutions increase in practical applications, how to efficiently solve expensive constrained optimization problems with limited computational resources has become an important area of research. Traditional optimization algorithms often struggle to balance the efficiency of global and local searches, especially when dealing with high-dimensional and complex constraint conditions.

Despite tremendous progress of dienamine catalysis along with its application in enantioselective synthesis over nearly two decades, certain limitations, especially with respect to the regioselectivity in the dienamine generation step, continue to persist. To overcome these shortcomings of classical dienamine catalysis, we now introduce the concept of alkoxy-directed dienamine catalysis and apply it to the enantioselective arene construction by desymmetrizing -enediones through [4 + 2]-cycloaddition. Catalyzed by a diphenylprolinol silyl ether, this reaction utilizes γ-alkoxy α,β-unsaturated aldehydes as the substrate and proceeds in a highly regioselective fashion through the intermediacy of δ-alkoxy dienamine.

Fungal periprosthetic joint infections (PJIs) are rare but increasingly recognized complications following total joint arthroplasty (TJA). While remains the most common pathogen, non-albicans species and other fungi, such as , have gained prominence. These infections often present with subtle clinical features and affect patients with significant comorbidities or immunosuppression.

Viral vector delivery of gene therapy represents a promising approach for the treatment of numerous retinal diseases. Adeno-associated viral vectors (AAV) constitute the primary gene delivery platform; however, their limited cargo capacity restricts the delivery of several clinically relevant retinal genes. In this study, we explore the feasibility of employing high-capacity adenoviral vectors (HC-AdVs) as alternative delivery vehicles, which, with a capacity of up to 36 kb, can potentially accommodate all known retinal gene coding sequences.
