The bacterial plant pathogen is the causal agent of yellow disease of and other ornamental plant genera. There is no available complete genome for , limiting basic research for this pathogen. Here, we release a high-quality complete genome sequence for the type strain, CFBP 1156. Single-molecule real-time (SMRT) sequencing with a mean coverage of 306× revealed two contigs of 4,918,645 and 44,381 bp in size. This was the first characterized plant-disease-causing species of and this genome provides a resource to better understand the biology of yellow disease of hyacinth.

Despite meticulous precautions, contamination of genomic DNA samples is not uncommon, which can significantly compromise the analysis of microorganisms' whole-genome sequencing data, thus affecting all subsequent analyses. Thanks to advancements in software and bioinformatics techniques, it is now possible to address this issue and prevent the loss of the entire dataset obtained in a contaminated whole-genome sequencing, where the DNA of another bacterium is present. In this study, it was observed that the sequencing reads from Streptomyces sp.

In recent years, it was found that lysine malonylation modification can affect biological metabolism and play an important role in plant life activities. Platycodon grandiflorus, an economic crop and medicinal plant, had no reports on malonylation in the related literature. This study qualitatively introduces lysine malonylation in P.

A crude oil aggregation-forming, strictly anaerobic, Gram-stain-positive, spore-forming, rod-shaped, motile and mesophilic bacterium, named strain SH18-2, was isolated from marine sediment near Sado Island in the Sea of Japan. The temperature, salinity and pH ranges of this strain for the growth were 15-40 °C (optimum 35 °C), 0.5-6.

Integrating multi-omics data may help researchers understand the genetic underpinnings of complex traits and diseases. However, the best ways to integrate multi-omics data and use them to address pressing scientific questions remain a challenge. One important and topical problem is how to assess the aggregate effect of multiple genomic data types (e.

Transcriptome-wide association studies (TWAS) investigate the links between genetically regulated gene expression and complex traits. TWAS involves imputing gene expression using expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) as predictors and testing the association between the imputed expression and the trait. The effectiveness of TWAS depends on the accuracy of these imputation models, which require genotype and gene expression data from the same samples.
