This paper discusses the effects of social assistance on kinship relationships in Roma, a disadvantaged European minority population, and how variation in kin support affects self-reported health and reproductive success. Data were collected in 2016-7 in several rural Roma settlements in central Serbia. The sample consisted of 143 men and 221 women. Demographic information (e.g., age, gender, educational level, marital and reproductive history, level of socioeconomic status and residence pattern), social assistance history, health status, height, and weight were collected, in addition to kinship relationship dynamics. Receiving social assistance was consistently negatively associated with all measures of kin support, more so for Roma males than females while decreased kin support was found to result in poorer self-rated health and decline in reproductive success.

Purpose: The efficacious implementation of robotic assistive technologies must be built on a thorough understanding of the experiences and perceptions of all concerned interest groups, particularly those of users and their caregivers. This study provides an in-depth insight into the experiences and perceptions of users of the JACO wheelchair-mounted robotic arm and those of their caregivers.
Methods: Users of JACO ( = 21; Female: 6; Male: 15) and caregivers ( = 11; Female: 9; Male: 2) participated in individual interviews used to gain qualitative insight into the impact of JACO on their day-to-day lives.

The increased growth, popularity, and media interest in women's sport has led to calls for greater prioritisation of female-specific research and innovation. In response, science and medicine researchers have increased the volume of sport-related studies investigating female-specific matters, such as the menstrual cycle. Whilst the accelerated rate of published studies with female participants is welcome, the emerging trend of using assumed or estimated menstrual cycle phases to characterise ovarian hormone profiles is a significant concern.

In this paper, we describe our process of adapting and implementing an adolescent-appropriate version of an existing Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) training module. Our research team adapted content from the CITI program's Researcher Basic Course-No Prisoners.

The community attitudes towards mental illness scale (CAMI) is widely used to measure authoritarianism, benevolence, social restrictiveness, and community mental health attitudes held by general populations and medical professionals. This study compares the fit of published alternative factor structures of the CAMI to a general population English-speaking sample and examines what mental illnesses individuals think about when responding. Using data from 749 US MTurk participants, confirmatory factor analysis supported a modified version of Morris' (2012) structure - fear/exclusion, social control, and goodwill - χ(183) = 1094.
