Processes occurring in the strong field regime of QED are characterized by background electromagnetic fields of the order of the critical field F_{cr}=m^{2}c^{3}/ℏ|e| in the rest frame of participating charges. It has been conjectured that if in their rest frame electrons and positrons experience field strengths of the order of F_{cr}/α^{3/2}≈1600F_{cr}, with α≈1/137 being the fine-structure constant, their effective coupling with radiation becomes of the order of unity. Here we show that channeling radiation by ultrarelativistic electrons with energies of the order of a few TeV on thin tungsten crystals allows us to test the predictions of QED close to this fully nonperturbative regime by measuring the angularly resolved single photon intensity spectrum. The proposed setup features the unique characteristics that essentially all electrons (1) undergo at most a single photon emission and (2) experience at the moment of emission and in the angular region of interest the maximum allowed value of the field strength, which at 2 TeV exceeds F_{cr} by more than 2 orders of magnitude in their rest frame.

Background: The Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI) is a frequently used mortality predictor based on a scoring system for the number and type of patient comorbidities health researchers have used since the late 1980s. The initial purpose of the CCI was to classify comorbid conditions, which could alter the risk of patient mortality within a 1-year time frame. However, the CCI may not accurately reflect risk among American Indians because they are a small proportion of the US population and possibly lack representation in the original patient cohort.

The sarco(endo)plasmic reticulum Ca ATPase (SERCA) is a membrane transporter that creates and maintains intracellular Ca stores. In the heart, SERCA is regulated by an inhibitory interaction with the monomeric form of the transmembrane micropeptide phospholamban (PLB). PLB also forms avid homo-pentamers, and dynamic exchange of PLB between pentamers and SERCA is an important determinant of cardiac responsiveness to exercise.

Persuasion is a type of social influence aiming to produce changes in others' attitudes or behaviors. This study explores the relationship between emotions and persuasion, principal moderating factors, and physiological reactions during persuasive attempts. Following PRISMA guidelines, 28 empirical articles were analyzed, addressing emotions, affective/cognitive orientations, framing effects, and psychophysiological reactions.

We present optimal Bayesian field-level cosmological constraints from nonlinear tracers of cosmic large-scale structure, specifically the amplitude σ_{8} of linear matter fluctuations inferred from rest-frame simulated dark matter halos in a comoving volume of 8 (h^{-1} Gpc)^{3}. Our constraint on σ_{8} is entirely due to nonlinear information, and obtained by explicitly sampling the initial conditions along with tracer bias and noise parameters via a Lagrangian effective field theory-based forward model, leftfield. The comparison with a simulation-based inference of the power spectrum and bispectrum-likewise using the leftfield forward model-shows that, when including precisely the same modes of the same data up to k_{max}=0.
