Background: There is a need to better understand barriers to recruitment and participation in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating postpartum thromboprophylaxis, as previous trials had low recruitment and were not feasible. In a qualitative interview study of the pilot PARTUM trial (a feasibility trial of low-dose aspirin versus placebo for six weeks postpartum), we explored the facilitators and barriers to trial involvement.
Methods: Patients eligible for the pilot PARTUM trial, including those who declined joining the trial, were invited to participate in a qualitative study.

Recent developments in artificial intelligence (AI) have seen a proliferation of algorithms that are now capable of predicting a range of systemic diseases from retinal images. Unlike traditional retinal disease detection AI models which are trained on well-recognised retinal biomarkers, systemic disease detection or "oculomics" models use a range of often poorly characterised retinal biomarkers to arrive at their predictions. As the retinal phenotype that oculomics models use may not be intuitive, clinicians have to rely on the developers' explanations of how these algorithms work in order to understand them.

Air pollution affects human health and may disrupt brain maturation, including axon myelination, critical for efficient neural signaling. Here, we assess the impact of prenatal and current long-term particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen dioxide (NO) exposure on cortical T1w/T2w ratios - a proxy for myelin content - in school-age children from the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study (United States; N = 2021) and NeuroSmog study (Poland; N = 577), using Siemens scanners. Across both samples, we found that NO and PM were not significantly associated with cortical T1w/T2w except for one association of PM with lower T1w/T2w in the precuneus in NeuroSmog.

Background And Objectives: Pediatric testicular torsion is a surgical emergency with known health disparities. The US News and World Report is an American media company that ranks colleges and hospitals based on annually published criteria. Hospitals that complied with the US News and World Report's (USNWR) Speed in Treating Testicular Torsion (SiTTT) metric saw improved surgical testicular salvage rates, but the metric's impact in mitigating inequities in testicular torsion is unstudied.

Background: Consumer awareness of food labels plays a crucial role in promoting informed purchasing decisions and healthier dietary habits. However, the extent to which demographic factors such as age and education influence this awareness remains underexplored in the Indian context.
Objective: This study investigates the influence of age and education on consumer awareness of food labels of the edible oils and fats in India.
