Automated production of an fluorine-18 labeled tryptophan analogue, 1-(2-[F]fluoroethyl)-l-tryptophan (1-L-[F]FETrp) in a current Good Manufacturing Practice facility was achieved. 1-L-[F]FETrp was produced by a one-pot, two-step strategy with an overall synthesis time of approximately 100 min, a radiochemical yield of 20 ± 5% (decay corrected), radiochemical purity and enantiomeric excess over 90%, and a molar activity of 103 ± 15 GBq/μmol at the end of synthesis (EOS). The dose mass of 1-L-FETrp in four consecutive batches was less than 5 μg. The radiopharmaceutical product met all quality control criteria for clinical use.

Electronic address:

Objective: We aimed to investigate the correlation between prevalent risk factors for high-risk neonates in neonatal intensive care unit and their hearing loss, and to examine the audiological features and genetic profiles associated with different deafness mutations in our tertiary referral center. This research seeks to deepen our understanding of the etiology behind congenital hearing loss.

Methods: We conducted initial hearing screenings, including automated auditory brainstem response, distortion product otoacoustic emission, and acoustic immittance on 443 high-risk neonates within 7 days after birth and 42 days (if necessary) after birth.

A Faster Privacy-Preserving Medical Image Diagnosis Scheme with Machine Learning.

Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have become indispensable to medical image diagnosis research, enabling the automated differentiation of diseased images from extensive medical image datasets. Due to their efficacy, these methods raise significant privacy concerns regarding patient images and diagnostic models. To address these issues, some researchers have explored privacy-preserving medical image diagnosis schemes using fully homomorphic encryption (FHE).

Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) is a crucial crop in tropics and subtropics, primarily cultivated for its tuber. However, its foliage is rich in protein and can supply essential elements for ruminants. The objective of this study was to evaluate the phytochemical compounds by Gas chromatography-MS (GC-MS) and the main phenolic by High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) present in cassava foliage, along with the fermentation pattern using a semi-automated gas production (GP) system.

Pathology laboratories are currently facing remarkable issues in the management of their archives due to the ongoing increase in the production of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) blocks, which is often coupled with inadequate spatial and environmental storing conditions. The manual process of storage and retrieving further increases the likelihood of human-based mistakes, wastes professionals' working time, and, ultimately, widens reports signing turn-around times. In the present work, we outline the strategies underlying the development of an automated archive at the pathology services of the University of Modena.
