: IgE-mediated latex allergy and associated food-allergies constitute a significant health issue with serious consequences of diagnostic error. Hence, there is a need for more reliable confirmatory diagnostics.: Here, we summarize the major limitations of conventional tests using native extracts and describe how piecing together the IgE reactivity profile can benefit correct diagnosis in difficult cases in whom conventional tests yield equivocal or negative results. A diagnostic algorithm integrating traditional sIgE and component-resolved diagnosis (CRD) is presented.: Moreover, it is clear that the discoveries in the field of the latex proteome will contribute to our understandings and accurate approach of sometimes complex cross-reactivity phenomena that extend beyond the 'latex-fruit syndrome.'

Background: The COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) epidemic has posed a major challenge to global public health, especially in children. Some children may experience secondary infection with Mycoplasma pneumoniae after SARS-CoV-2 infection, which has attracted widespread attention. Studies have shown that eosinophils play an important role in respiratory tract infections and are involved in regulating immune responses and inflammatory processes.

This mini-review examines the emerging role of the gut microbiome in influencing food allergen cross-reactivity. It specifically focuses on how microbial diversity, antigens, and metabolites impact IgE-mediated allergic responses. Cross-reactivity occurs when structurally similar food and microbial antigens trigger hypersensitivities, affecting millions of people worldwide.

Background: This study aimed to investigate the possible association of LPCAT1-rs8352 genetic variant (single nucleotide change C to G) with the onset and severity of pediatric asthma. Additionally, the study examined the influence of LPCAT1-rs8352 genotypes on asthma-related biomarkers including blood eosinophils count (BEC), eosinophil cationic protein (ECP), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), and immunoglobulin E (IgE) and on lung function [forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) and the forced vital capacity (FVC)].

Patients And Methods: The study included ninety-six participant grouped into two groups: G1 (46 asthmatics) and G2 (50 healthy controls).

Background: Multiparameter immunoblot testing is increasingly used as an alternative to multiple individual IgE analyses for type 1 allergies. This study investigated the performance of an inexpensive immunoblot method, the RIDA qLine allergy test system (R-Biopharm AG), vs. the current gold standard.

Immunoglobulin A (IgA) vasculitis (IgAV), classically known as Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP), is a type of nonthrombocytopenic small-vessel vasculitis. HSP is the most frequent kind of systemic vasculitis in children, characterized by purpura, arthritis or arthralgia, gastrointestinal pain, and kidney dysfunction. The aim of our research was to investigate and observe the clinical characteristics of children diagnosed with HSP and to explore the correlation between infectious diseases and HSP.
