Cutaneous mastocytosis (CM) is the most common type of mastocytosis in children. The atopy frequency in these patients is typically similar to that in the general population, but a higher incidence of anaphylaxis is reported. This study aimed to evaluate the presence of allergic diseases in children diagnosed with CM and its impact on clinical manifestations.

Background: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 was found first in Wuhan and declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. Coinfection with other respiratory viruses may occur, complicating the diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus disease 2019 . Herein, we identified a Karolinska Institute polyomavirus Stockholm 60 present in a nasopharyngeal swab of a patient with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection using next-generation sequencing with an enrichment method.

Background: Palliative sedation involves the intentional proportional lowering of the level of consciousness in patients with life-limiting disease who are experiencing refractory suffering. The efficacy of palliative sedation needs to be monitored to ensure patient comfort. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy using discomfort levels combined with sedation/agitation levels.

Although many studies have investigated the association of particulate pollution with CVD, the effect of finer particulate pollution components on CVD remains unclear. This study aimed to explore the effect of five PM components ([Formula: see text], sulfate; [Formula: see text], nitrate; [Formula: see text], ammonium; OM, organic matter; BC, carbon black) on CVD admission in Shanghai City, identify the susceptible population, and provide clues for the prevention and control of particulate pollution.
