The National Association of Emergency Medical Services Physicians (NAEMSP), American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS-COT), and American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) believe that evidence-based, pragmatic, and collaborative protocols addressing the care of patients with traumatic out-of-hospital circulatory arrest (TOHCA) are needed to optimize patient outcomes and clinician safety. When the etiology of arrest is unclear, particularly without clear signs of life-threatening trauma, standard basic and advanced cardiac life support (BCLS/ACLS) treatments for medical cardiac arrest is appropriate. Traumatic circulatory arrest may result from massive hemorrhage, airway obstruction, obstructive shock, respiratory disturbances, cardiogenic causes or massive head trauma.

Background: Rapid integration of large language models (LLMs) in health care is sparking global discussion about their potential to revolutionize health care quality and accessibility. At a time when improving health care quality and access remains a critical concern for countries worldwide, the ability of these models to pass medical examinations is often cited as a reason to use them for medical training and diagnosis. However, the impact of their inevitable use as a self-diagnostic tool and their role in spreading health care misinformation has not been evaluated.

Halide perovskite materials have been extensively studied in the last decade because of their impressive optoelectronic properties. However, their one characteristic that is uncommon for semiconductors is that many undergo thermally induced structural phase transitions. The transition is hysteretic, with the hysteresis window marking the boundary of the metastable phase.

[Purpose] This study aimed to determine lower extremity asymmetry in healthy males when participating in sports where non-contact injuries are common by comparing lower extremity muscle strength, jumping distance, and change of direction speed between the dominant and non-dominant legs. [Participants and Methods] Study participants included 16 healthy males who had been playing a specific sport for at least four years at the time of measurement. We measured the maximal isometric strength of five muscle groups and conducted six performance tests.
