Purpose: To explore the potential of B7-H3-targeted ultrasound molecular imaging (USMI) for longitudinal assessment and differentiation of metastatic and reactive sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs) in mouse models.
Procedures: Metastatic and reactive SLN models were established by injection of 4T1 breast cancer cells and complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA) respectively to the 4th mammary fat pad of female BALB/c mice. At day 21, 28, and 35 after inoculation, USMI was performed following intravenous injection of B7-H3-targeted microbubbles (MB) or IgG-control microbubbles (MB). All SLNs were histopathologically examined after the last imaging session.
Results: A total of 20 SLNs from tumor-bearing mice (T-SLNs) and five SLNs from CFA-injected mice (C-SLNs) were examined by USMI. Nine T-SLNs were histopathologically positive for metastasis (MT-SLNs). From day 21 to 35, T-SLNs showed a rising trend in MB signal with a steep increase in MT-SLNs at day 35 (213.5 ± 80.8 a.u.) as compared to day 28 (87.6 ± 77.2 a.u., P = 0.002) and day 21 (55.7 ± 35.5 a.u., P < 0.001). At day 35, MT-SLNs had significantly higher MB signal than non-metastatic T-SLNs (NMT-SLNs) (101.9 ± 48.0 a.u., P = 0.001) and C-SLNs (38.5 ± 34.0 a.u., P = 0.001); MB signal was significantly higher than MB in MT-SLNs (P = 0.001), but not in NMT-SLNs or C-SLNs (both P > 0.05). A significant correlation was detected between MB signal and volume fraction of metastasis in MT-SLNs (r = 0.76, P = 0.017).
Conclusions: B7-H3-targeted USMI allows differentiation of MT-SLNs from NMT-SLNs and C-SLNs in mouse models and has great potential to evaluate tumor burden in SLNs of breast cancer.

Background/objectives: Time-restricted eating (TRE) has been associated with beneficial effects for inflammation and oxidative stress; however, the effects of TRE on inflammation and oxidative stress in the aging population have not been explored.
Methods: This secondary analysis tested the effects of TRE on pro-inflammatory (hs-CRP [high-sensitivity C-reactive protein], IL-1β [interleukin 1 beta], IL-6 [interleukin 6], TNF-α [tumor necrosis factor alpha]) and oxidative stress (8-isoprostane) biomarkers in ten overweight older adults (mean age = 77.1 ± 6.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), a serious metabolic disorder, is a worldwide health problem due to the alarming rise in prevalence and elevated morbidity and mortality. Chronic hyperglycemia, insulin resistance, and ineffective insulin effect and secretion are hallmarks of T2DM, leading to many serious secondary complications. These include, in particular, cardiovascular disorders, diabetic neuropathy, nephropathy and retinopathy, diabetic foot, osteoporosis, liver damage, susceptibility to infections and some cancers.

Particulate matter (PM) is a major component of ambient air pollution. PM exposure is linked to numerous adverse health effects, including chronic lung diseases. Air quality guidelines designed to regulate levels of ambient PM are currently based on the mass concentration of different particle sizes, independent of their origin and chemical composition.

Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is an immune-mediated, fibroinflammatory, multiorgan disease with an obscure pathogenesis. Findings indicating excessive platelet activation have been reported in systemic sclerosis, which is another autoimmune, multisystemic fibrotic disorder. The immune-mediated, inflammatory, and fibrosing intersections of IgG4-RD and systemic sclerosis raised a question about platelets' role in IgG4-RD.

Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is a rare and aggressive malignancy with a poor prognosis. Identifying reliable prognostic factors is crucial for risk stratification and optimizing treatment strategies. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of clinicopathologic factors and systemic inflammatory markers on survival outcomes in patients with MPM.
