Cyclohexane was directly oxy-functionalised to ϵ-caprolactone through a cascade reaction sequence combining visible-light-driven photocatalysis with cyclohexanone monooxygenase (CHMO) whole-cell biocatalysis. Two available photocatalysts, Au-doped TiO (Au-TiO ) and graphitic carbonitride (g-C N ), were evaluated in the experiment and some optimisations to the cascade reaction were applied. In stepwise mode, the highest degree of conversion from cyclohexanol to ϵ-caprolactone can be up to 41 %, with use of g-C N . The cascade reaction from cyclohexane to ϵ-caprolactone is achievable under a light intensity of 149 μW cm .

Dynamically interconvertible metallo-supramolecular multicomponent assemblies, coexisting orthogonally in solution, serve as simplified mimics for complex networks found in biological systems. Building on recent advances in controlling the nonstatistical self-assembly of heteroleptic coordination cages and heteromeric completive self-sorting, i.e.

Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is defined as a glucose intolerance resulting in hyperglycaemia of variable severity with onset during pregnancy, and is prevalent worldwide. The study of diagnostic markers of GDM in early pregnancy is important for early diagnosis and early intervention of GDM. The aim of this study was to search for biomarkers of GDM in early and mid-pregnancy using a targeted proteomics approach.

We report a cascade synthesis of indole-fused benzodiazepines by the photocatalyzed addition of phenacyl radical, generated from α-acetoxy acetophenone, to 2-(3-methyl-1-indol-1-yl)aniline, and subsequent cyclodehydration. A range of indole-fused benzodiazepines were obtained from readily available substrates.

The thermocatalytic conversion of CO with green or blue hydrogen into valuable energy and commodity chemicals such as alcohols, olefins, and aromatics emerges as one of the most promising strategies for mitigating global warming concerns in the future. This process can follow either a CO-modified Fischer-Tropsch synthesis route or a methanol-mediated route, with the latter being favored for its high product selectivity beyond the Anderson-Schulz-Flory distribution. Despite the progress of the CO-led methanol-mediated route over bifunctional metal/zeolite catalysts, challenges persist in developing catalysts with both high activity and selectivity due to the complexity of CO hydrogenation reaction networks and the difficulty in controlling C-O bond activation and C-C bond coupling on multiple active sites within zeolites.

The cascade aza-Prins/Friedel-Crafts reaction of homocinnamyloxycarbamate with electron-rich aromatic aldehydes has been successfully established. Most of the aromatic aldehydes react with the carbamate stereoselectively to generate -hydroindeno-1,2-oxazinanes. However, the cascade reactions of benzaldehydes bearing two methoxy groups at the -positions exhibit a unique stereochemical profile.
