-(1,3-Dimethylbutyl)-'-phenyl--phenylenediamine-quinone (6PPD-Q) is a rubber-tire derivative which leaches into surface waters from roadway runoff, from tire particles and has been identified as a possible driver of urban runoff mortality syndrome in coho salmon. Sensitivity to this toxicant is highly variable across fish species and life stages. With environmental concentrations meeting or exceeding toxicity thresholds in sensitive fishes, the potential for ecologically relevant effects is significant.

Strain redistribution for achieving wide-range and high-sensitivity monitoring of natural rubber-based sensors.

J Colloid Interface Sci

December 2024

Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, Sichuan Academy of Medical Science, Affiliated Hospital of University of Electronic Science and Technology, Chengdu 610072, China. Electronic address:

Strain sensors with high sensitivity and wide detection range are essential for meeting diverse applications, such as precisely monitoring the movement of patients with bone defects during rehabilitation. However, extending the sensing range without compromising sensitivity, particularly for small strains, remains a significant challenge for flexible sensors. Here, a strain redistribution strategy was employed to achieve wide-range and high-sensitivity monitoring of natural rubber (NR)-based sensors.

Background: Isolation with cotton rolls does not always provide as complete isolation as rubber dam, especially in procedures where absolute moisture control is critical. Therefore, this review aims to summarize and analyze previous studies evaluating the retention and marginal integrity of pit & fissure sealant using rubber dam and cotton roll isolation techniques during dental treatment in children.

Material And Methods: In accordance with PRISMA guidelines, search yielded 1361 articles, with seven RCTs and one non-RCT design meeting the inclusion criteria.
