Background: Anal fistula surgery often leads to postoperative pain, which can hinder recovery and negatively impact patients' quality of life. This prospective, randomised, controlled trial (RCT) aims to investigate the efficacy of acupuncture in alleviating postoperative pain and reducing the usage of analgesic medications following anal fistula surgery.
Methods: This single-centre, patient-blinded, assessor-blinded, placebo-controlled randomised controlled trial (RCT) will be conducted at a tertiary referral hospital.

Objective: To explore independent risk factors and to establish a predictive model for postoperative urinary retention (POUR) following transabdominal preperitoneal inguinal hernia repair (TAPP).
Methods: Between January 2017 and December 2023, 598 patients with inguinal hernia who underwent TAPP at the General Surgery Department of Zunyi Medical University Affiliated Liupanshui Hospital were enrolled in the study. Participants were randomly divided into training and validation sets (7:3 ratio).

Importance: The rise of high-potency opioids such as fentanyl makes buprenorphine initiation challenging due to the risks of precipitated withdrawal, prompting the exploration of strategies, such as low-dose initiation (LDI) of buprenorphine. However, no comparative studies on LDI outcomes exist.
Objective: To evaluate outpatient outcomes associated with 2 LDI protocols of buprenorphine among individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD) using fentanyl.

Background: Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) is widely used in lung cancer surgery, as this technique causes less pain and faster recovery than open thoracotomy. However, significant postoperative pain persists in a number of patients, often leading to increased opioid use and opioid-related adverse events in addition to prolonged admission times. Perioperatively administered glucocorticoids have been demonstrated effective in reducing pain after other types of surgeries, but the effect in VATS remains unclear.

Objectives: To investigate if photobiomodulation (PBM) can reduce dentin hypersensitivity (DH) through a randomized, controlled, double-blind clinical trial.
Materials And Methods: One hundred and twelve patients experiencing DH after non-surgical scaling and root planing (SRP) were enrolled and divided into the Experimental Group - SRP + PBM (660 nm, 1.061 J/cm²) and the Control Group - SRP + PBM simulation.
