Tetrasomy 9p (ORPHA: 3310) (i(9p)) is a rare chromosomal imbalance. It is characterized by the presence of a supernumerary chromosome incorporating two copies of the short arm of chromosome 9 and is usually present in a mosaic state postnatally. Depending on the level of mosaicism, the phenotype ranges from mild developmental delay to multiple congenital anomalies with severe intellectual disability. Here, we report on a patient diagnosed with i(9p) mosaicism after the recurrent failure of in vitro fertilization. Although the patient's clinical phenotype was normal, the level of mosaicism varied greatly from one tissue to another. A sperm analysis evidenced subnormal spermatogenesis with chromosomally balanced spermatozoa and no risk of transmission to the offspring. Although individuals with i(9p) and no clinical manifestations have rarely been described, the prenatal diagnosis of this abnormality in the absence of ultrasound findings raises a number of questions.

Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) encompasses a spectrum of diagnoses ranging from unstable angina pectoris to myocardial infarction with and without ST-segment elevation and frequently presents as the first clinical manifestation. It is crucial in this scenario to perform a timely and comprehensive assessment of patients by evaluating the clinical presentation, electrocardiogram and laboratory diagnostics using highly sensitivity cardiac troponin in order to initiate a timely and risk-adapted continuing treatment with immediate or early invasive coronary angiography.

Background: Exposure to hairs of caterpillars and moths are collectively termed as lepidopterism. Clinical manifestations include cutaneous presentation of localized stinging reaction with wheals or vesiculation, acute urticarial papules and plaques, ophthalmic, oropharyngeal involvement to severe life-threatening anaphylactic reactions with angioedema.
Aims: In this study we have determined the prevalence of various cutaneous, oropharyngeal and ophthalmic manifestations of lepidopterism at a tertiary health care center.

Cardiac symptoms are commonly reported in HAT patients, and intracardiac parasites with accompanying myocarditis have been observed in both natural hosts and animal models of infection. Objective: It is hypothesized that the way nano- and micro-hybrid polymer-based composites are structured and cured impacts the way they respond to aging.
Material And Methods: A polymer-ceramic interpenetrating network composite (Vita Enamic/VE), an industrially polymerized (Brillinat CriosST/BC), and an in situ light-cured composite with discrete inorganic fillers (Admira Fusion5/AF5) were selected. Specimens (308) were either cut from CAD/CAM blocks (VE/BC) or condensed and cured in white polyoxymethylene molds (AF5) and subjected to four different aging conditions ( = 22): (a) 24 h storage in distilled water at 37 °C; (b) 24 h storage in distilled water at 37 °C followed by thermal cycling for 10,000 cycles 5/55 °C (TC); (c) TC followed by storage in a 75% ethanol-water solution; and (d) TC followed by a 3-week demineralization/remineralization cycling.
