Reactive oxygen species (ROS)-mediated anticancer modalities, which disturb the redox balance of cancer cells through multi-pathway simulations, hold great promise for effective cancer management. Among these, cooperative physical and biochemical activation strategies have attracted increasing attention because of their spatiotemporal controllability, low toxicity, and high therapeutic efficacy. Herein, we demonstrate a nanogel complex as a multilevel ROS-producing system by integrating chloroperoxidase (CPO) into gold nanorod (AuNR)-based nanogels (ANGs) for cascade-amplifying photothermal-enzymatic synergistic tumor therapy.

Accompanying the occurrence of inflammatory reaction to release cytokines, pyroptosis can activate an immune response for resistance against cancer. Consequently, elevated levels of cytokines released by cancer cells are highly correlated with the effectiveness of cancer treatment. Herein, a noninvasive surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) immunosensor was developed to sensitively and specifically measure the tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), a proinflammatory cytokine, during the cell pyroptosis process.

Intact glycopeptide characterization by mass spectrometry has proven to be a versatile tool for site-specific glycoproteomics analysis and biomarker screening. Here, we present a method using a new model of a Q-TOF instrument equipped with a Zeno trap for intact glycopeptide identification and demonstrate its ability to analyze large-cohort glycoproteomes. From 124 clinical serum samples of breast cancer, noncancerous diseases, and nondisease controls, a total of 6901 unique site-specific glycans on 807 glycosites of proteins were detected.

Ulcerative colitis (UC), often referred to as "green cancer", is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease with an unclear etiology, closely associated with the imbalance of hydrogen sulfide (HS) and peroxynitrite (ONOO). HS exhibits anti-inflammatory effects at physiological levels, but excessive concentrations can compromise the intestinal barrier, while ONOO aggravates inflammation. To facilitate the molecular-level monitoring of these compounds in UC, we developed a novel fluorescent probe, , capable of simultaneously detecting HS and ONOO via distinct fluorescent channels in a cascade mode.
