Background: Diagnosis of sarcoidosis often involves endobronchial biopsy (EBB), but studies have shown varying yields for EBB in suspected sarcoidosis, partly due to differences in identifying abnormal mucosa under white light (WL). Narrow band imaging (NBI) may assist in the visualization of abnormal mucosa, but its role in sarcoidosis remains to be characterized.
Methods: Individuals referred for suspected sarcoidosis were considered for enrollment.

Introduction: This case report presents the successful detection of an exon 19 deletion using virtual bronchoscopic navigation (VBN) and endobronchial ultrasound with guide sheath (EBUS-GS) brushing, integrated with highly sensitive next-generation sequencing (NGS), even in challenging biopsy scenarios. The growing prevalence of driver gene alterations in non-small cell lung cancer necessitates effective bronchoscopic technology and reliable multiplex gene NGS panels. However, data regarding the optimal bronchoscopic techniques when using highly sensitive NGS panels are limited.

Herein, we present the largest case series ( = 7) from a single centre, between 2017 and 2023, retrospectively reviewed, detailing clinical presentations, diagnoses, management and up to 4-year follow-up outcomes. Diagnosis relied on characteristic lesions detected through white light bronchoscopy with or without endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) or narrow band imaging (NBI), along with computed tomography (CT) scans or bronchial angiography.

Background: There are few reports on the utility of bronchoscopic narrow-band imaging (NBI) for visualizing endobronchial abnormalities in sarcoidosis. Our primary objective was to compare the sensitivity of finding endobronchial abnormality using NBI versus white light bronchoscopy (WLB) in patients with sarcoidosis. The secondary aim was to evaluate the sensitivity of NBI in diagnosing endobronchial sarcoidosis against a reference standard of positive endobronchial biopsy (EBB).
