Trisubstituted olefins are reactants in template-directed, solid-state [2+2] photocycloaddition reactions. Whereas hydrogen-bond-based templates afford crystalline assemblies with olefins that are photostable, Ag coordination results in carbon-carbon double bonds that react stereoselectively and result in quantitative yield.

Metal-organic frameworks that feature hybrid fluorescence and phosphorescence offer unique advantages in white-emitting communities based on their multiple emission centers and high exciton utilization. However, it poses a substantial challenge to realize superior white-light emission in single-component metal-organic frameworks without encapsulating varying chromophores or integrating multiple phosphor subunits. Here, we achieve a high-performance white-light emission with photoluminescence quantum yield of 81.

Developing sensitive and reliable methods for detecting antibiotics in water solutions is essential for protecting public health and the environment. Here, we report a novel fluorescent film with superior mechanical properties and detection response to ciprofloxacin (CIP), achieved through the in-situ growth of europium-based metal-organic frameworks on TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofibrils (TOCNF). Firstly, Eu(III) and 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid (DPA) served as precursors, and a simple self-assembly strategy was employed to grow the composite film material (Eu-DPA@TOCNF) in situ on TOCNF, which exhibited characteristic emission peaks.

Atherosclerosis (AS) is a prevalent inflammatory vascular disease characterized by plaque formation, primarily composed of foam cells laden with lipids. Despite lipid-lowering therapies, effective plaque clearance remains challenging due to the overexpression of the CD47 molecule on apoptotic foam cells, inhibiting macrophage-mediated cellular efferocytosis and plaque resolution. Moreover, AS lesions are often associated with severe inflammation and oxidative stress, exacerbating disease progression.

Developing new photocatalysts for the selective oxidation of thioethers to high-value-added sulfoxides under low-oxygen mild conditions is a promising but challenging strategy. Here, a new polyoxometalate-based metal-organic framework (POMOF), , was successfully synthesized, wherein continuous π···π stacking interactions and direct coordination bonds not only strengthen the framework's stability but also accelerate electron transfer. A series of experiments and theoretical studies, including control experiments, kinetic studies, electrochemical spectroscopic analyses, and electron paramagnetic resonance, revealed the synergistic catalytic effect among Co(II) metal centers, BWO, and the photosensitizer TPT.

Although microenvironments surrounding single-atom catalysts (SACs) have been widely demonstrated to have a remarkable effect on their catalytic performances, it remains unclear whether the local structure beyond the secondary coordination shells works as well or not. Herein, we employed a series of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with well-defined and tunable second-beyond coordination spheres as model SAC electrocatalysts to discuss the influence of long-distance structure on the ammonia synthesis from nitrate, which were synthesized and denoted as Cu-NDI-X (X = NMe, H, F). It is first experimentally confirmed that the remote substitution of function groups beyond the secondary coordination sphere can remarkably affect the activity of ammonia synthesis.
