Objective: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the surgical and functional results of endoscopic butterfly-inlay cartilage myringoplasty and endoscopic push-through myringoplasty in the treatment of anterior perforation of the tympanic membrane.
Method: This open-label randomised clinical study was conducted on 71 patients with small- and medium-sized anterior perforations of the tympanic membrane. Graft success rate, hearing results, operative time and complications were analysed.
Results: Graft success rates for endoscopic butterfly-inlay cartilage myringoplasty and endoscopic push-through myringoplasty were 94.1 and 91.8 per cent, respectively (p > 0.05). Post-operative air-bone gap values significantly improved in both the endoscopic butterfly-inlay cartilage myringoplasty and endoscopic push-through myringoplasty groups. The average operative time was significantly shorter in the endoscopic butterfly-inlay cartilage myringoplasty group (31.5 minutes) compared to the endoscopic push-through myringoplasty group (41.7 minutes; p < 0.05).
Conclusion: When compared with the endoscopic push-through myringoplasty, the endoscopic butterfly-inlay cartilage myringoplasty technique, which is technically easier to perform, does not require packing and has a shorter operating time. It is a reasonable approach for repair of anterior perforations of the tympanic membrane.

Unlabelled: Since 1952, myringoplasty has evolved with various surgical techniques, including overlay, underlay, sandwich, pegging, rosette, and plugging. Overlay and underlay methods are most commonly used. In 1998, Eavey introduced the cartilage and perichondrium butterfly inlay myringoplasty, designed for small to medium-sized perforation closure, offering practical advantages such as reduced surgical time and improved hearing outcomes.

Objective: To compare graft outcomes and postoperative complications between the extended perichondrium-cartilage butterfly inlay (PCBI) technique and the perichondrium-cartilage over-underlay (PCOU) technique for repairing subtotal perforations over a 2-year follow-up period.
Methods And Materials: Patients with subtotal perforations were prospectively randomized to either the extended PCBI (n = 52) or PCOU (n = 51) group. Evaluation metrics included operation time, graft success rate, hearing gain, and complications at 24 months postoperatively.

Objectives: Butterfly inlay myringoplasty is a simple and practical surgical technique used in the repair of tympanic membrane perforation offering good outcomes in terms of hearing. The present study evaluates the effects of myringosclerosis on the success of surgery by reviewing demographic data, perforation size and hearing outcomes of patients undergoing endoscopic inlay butterfly myringoplasty due to chronic otitis media.
Methods: The study included 75 patients who underwent endoscopic inlay butterfly myringoplasty with the diagnosis of chronic suppurative otitis media in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Fırat University Faculty of Medicine between March 2018 and July 2021.

Purpose: While the use of cartilage graft for revision tympanoplasty is quite common, the data on the revision of cartilage tympanoplasty are limited. Our study aims to present the results of our patients who underwent endoscopic butterfly inlay myringoplasty for the revision of cartilage tympanoplasty.
Methods: Demographic data, ear sides, perforation locations, graft success rates and hearing results of the patients who underwent endoscopic butterfly inlay myringoplasty for revision of cartilage tympanoplasty between Sep 2017 and Jan 2020 were evaluated.
