We develop a method to investigate the effect of noise timescales on the first-passage time of nonlinear oscillators. Using Fredholm theory, we derive an exact integral equation for the mean event rate of a leaky integrate-and-fire oscillator that receives constant input and temporally correlated noise. Furthermore, we show that Fredholm theory provides a unified framework to determine the system scaling behavior for small and large noise timescales. In this framework, the leading-order and higher-order asymptotic corrections for slow and fast noise are naturally emerging. We show the scaling behavior in the both limits is not reciprocal. We discuss further how this approach can be extended to study the first-passage time in a general class of nonlinear oscillators driven by colored noise at arbitrary timescales.

Infinite-dimensional systems play an important role in the continuous-variable quantum computation model, which can compete with a more standard approach based on qubit and quantum circuit computation models. But, in many cases, the value of entropy unfortunately cannot be easily computed for states originating from an infinite-dimensional Hilbert space. Therefore, in this article, the unified quantum entropy (which extends the standard von Neumann entropy) notion is extended to the case of infinite-dimensional systems by using the Fredholm determinant theory.

Various observables in different four-dimensional superconformal Yang-Mills theories can be computed exactly as Fredholm determinants of truncated Bessel operators. We exploit this relation to determine their dependence on the 't Hooft coupling constant. Unlike the weak coupling expansion, which has a finite radius of convergence, the strong coupling expansion is factorially divergent, necessitating the inclusion of nonperturbative, exponentially small corrections.

Fundamental equations describing the X-ray and electron diffraction scattering in imperfect crystals have been derived in the form of the matrix Fredholm-Volterra integral equation of the second kind. A theoretical approach has been developed using the perfect-crystal Green function formalism. In contrast, another approach utilizes the wavefield eigenfunctions related to the diagonalized matrix propagators of the conventional Takagi-Taupin and Howie-Whelan equations.

We investigate and solve the weak noise theory for the semidiscrete O'Connell-Yor directed polymer. In the large deviation regime, the most probable evolution of the partition function obeys a classical nonlinear system which is a nonstandard discretization of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with mixed initial-final conditions. We show that this system is integrable and find its general solution through an inverse scattering method and a non-standard Fredholm determinant framework that we develop.
