Microwave (MW) irradiation is often used in preparation of nanomaterials. Here, we investigate MW exfoliation patterns of intercalated fluorinated graphite (CF) depending on the nature of the "guest". The resulting highly exfoliated graphites (multi-layer graphenes) show advantageous characteristics, as compared to the products of convective heating.
