[Circulating L-lymphocytes in brucellosis patients].

Zh Mikrobiol Epidemiol Immunobiol

Published: August 1988

The content of L-lymphocytes in patients with different clinical forms of brucellosis has been studied. The degree of a decrease in the level of these cells has been found to depend on the activity of the infectious process and its clinical manifestations in the form of polyarthritis. The severity of the course of acute and subacute brucellosis has been found to produce no essential influence on the level of L-cells. These cells are supposed to participate in the processes of pathogenesis and the elimination of the pathogen in brucellosis.

Background: Lymphopenia is a predictive factor for hematological toxicity, progression and early death in advanced cancers including metastatic breast cancer (MBC). CYT107 is a recombinant interleukin 7 (IL-7) (Cytheris, now Revimmune), well tolerated and able to expand lymphocyte pool in humans. The aims of this study were to determine the optimal schedule to deliver CYT107 and to assess its effect on clinical end points.

Purpose: To evaluate the influence of time of day on the circulating concentrations of 21 hematology parameters.

Materials And Methods: Venous blood samples were obtained under standardized circumstances from 24 healthy young men every third hour through 24 hours, nine time points in total. At each time point, the level of melatonin, iron, transferrin, transferrin saturation, ferritin, cobalamin, folate, red blood cells and white blood cells was measured.

The purpose of this study was to determine the in-vivo and in-vitro effects of insulin, at physiological and supraphysiological concentrations, on the human immune system. Ten healthy young men went through a sequential two-step hyperinsulinaemic euglycaemic clamp. Plasma insulin concentrations were increased from baseline (9.
