Bovine serum albumin (BSA)-coated haemoglobin (Hb)-microcapsules prepared by co-precipitation of Hb and MnCO may present an alternative type of artificial blood substitute. Prepared microcapsules were analysed by Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Respirometry, cytotoxicity was evaluated by addition of microcapsules to murine fibroblast-derived cell line L929 (American Type Culture Collection, NCTC clone 929 of strain L). The capsules come along with a mean diameter of approximately 0.6 μm and a mean volume of 1.13 × 10 L, thus an average human red blood cell with a volume of 9 × 10 L is about 800,000 times bigger. Hb-microcapsules are fully regenerable by ascorbic acid and maintain oxygen affinity because oxygen is able to pass the BSA wall of the capsules and thereby binding to the ferrous iron of the haemoglobin entity. Therefore, these microcapsules present a suitable type of potential artificial haemoglobin-based oxygen carrier (HbOC).

Background: An association exists between obesity and reduced testosterone levels in males. The propose of this research is to reveal the correlation between 15 indices linked to obesity and lipid levels with the concentration of serum testosterone, and incidence of testosterone deficiency (TD) among adult American men.
Methods: The study utilized information gathered from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) carried out from 2011 to 2016.

Alcohol consumption is an important risk factor for multiple diseases. It is typically assessed via self-report, which is open to measurement error through recall bias. Instead, molecular data such as blood-based DNA methylation (DNAm) could be used to derive a more objective measure of alcohol consumption by incorporating information from cytosine-phosphate-guanine (CpG) sites known to be linked to the trait.

Background: The Sec14 domain is an ancient lipid-binding domain that evolved from yeast Sec14p and performs complex lipid-mediated regulatory functions in subcellular organelles and intracellular traffic. The Sec14 family is characterized by a highly conserved Sec14 domain, and is ubiquitously expressed in all eukaryotic cells and has diverse functions. However, the number and characteristics of Sec14 homologous genes in soybean, as well as their potential roles, remain understudied.

Acute B-lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) is a highly heterogeneous hematologic malignancy, characterized by significant molecular differences among patients as the disease progresses. While the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway and metabolic reprogramming are known to play crucial roles in B-ALL, the interactions between lipid metabolism, immune pathways, and drug resistance remain unclear. In this study, we performed multi-omics analysis on different patient cohorts (newly diagnosed, relapsed, standard-risk, and poor-risk) to investigate the molecular characteristics associated with metabolism, signaling pathways, and immune regulation in B-ALL.

Tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC) is a common malignant oral cancer characterized by substantial invasion, a high rate of lymph node and distant metastasis, and a high recurrence rate. This study aims to provide new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of TSCC patients by exploring the related mechanisms that affect the migration and invasion of TSCC and inhibit the migration and spread of cancer cells. The results indicated the rate of high expression of IL-17 in cancer tissues was greater than that in tongue tissues, and the expression of IL-17 was related to the TNM stage.
