Fluorescent derivatives of phosphorhydrazone dendrimers are reviewed. Diverse types of fluorophores have been used, such as pyrene, naphthol, anthracene, dansyl, diketone, phthalocyanine, maleimide, julolidine, rhodamine, fluorescein, or fluorene derivatives. The fluorescent groups can be located either as terminal groups on the surface, at the core, linked to the core (off-center), or to the branches of the dendritic structure. After fundamental research on their synthesis, these compounds have been used in the fields of catalysis, nanomaterials, OLEDs, sensors and biology/nanomedicine, in particular for monitoring transfection, or for their anti-inflammatory or anti-cancer properties.

Confocal microscopy is an invaluable tool for studying fluorescent materials and finds a wide application in biology and in quantum sensing. Usually, these experiments are performed under ambient conditions, but many materials are air sensitive (for example, black phosphorus) and degrade quickly under the strong laser irradiance. Here, we present a glovebox-integrated confocal microscope designed for nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center-based nano-scale sensing and NMR spectroscopy in an inert gas atmosphere.

This study investigates the dynamics of oleate hydratase (OhyA), a bacterial flavoenzyme from , and its interactions with lipid membranes, focusing on the factors influencing membrane binding and oligomerization. OhyA catalyzes the hydration of unsaturated fatty acids, playing a key role in bacterial pathogenesis by neutralizing host antimicrobial fatty acids. OhyA binds the membrane bilayer to access membrane-embedded substrates for catalysis, and structural studies have revealed that OhyA forms oligomers on membrane surfaces, stabilized by both protein-protein and protein-lipid interactions.

These herbicides give rise to a number of key metabolites, with 3-methyl phosphinicopropionic acid (MPPA), -acetyl glufosinate (-acetyl GLUF), aminomethyl phosphonic acid (AMPA), -acetyl aminomethyl phosphonic acid (-acetyl AMPA), -acetyl glyphosate (-acetyl GLY), -methyl glyphosate (-methyl GLY) as the major metabolites obtained from GLUF and GLY. Extensive use of these herbicides may lead to their increased presence in the environment, especially aquatic ecosystems.

Based on nitrogen and phosphorus co-doped carbon dots (NP-CDs), a direct, quick, and selective sensing probe for fluorometric detection of rutin has been developed. Utilizing ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid (EDTA) as a carbon and nitrogen source and diammonium hydrogen phosphate (NH)HPO as a nitrogen and phosphorus source. The NP-CDs were synthesized in less than 3 min with a straightforward one-step microwave pyrolysis process with a high quantum yield (63.

The integration of reactive oxygen species (ROS) related photodynamic therapy (PDT) with the strategy of reshaping the tumor microenvironment (TME) has emerged as a potential approach for nanodiagnostic and therapeutic interventions. However, the therapeutic efficacy based on ROS treatments may be hindered by intracellular antioxidants such as glutathione (GSH) and tumor hypoxia. To address these challenges, a nanoplatform based on GSH-responsive multifunctional porphyrinic metal-organic framework (PCN-224@Au@MnO@HA, PAMH) was proposed.
