With the assistance of hydrogen bonds of the o-amino group, we have successfully tuned a coordination structure from a metal-organic polyhedron (MOP) to a two-dimensional (2D) metal-organic framework (MOF). The amino group forms hydrogen bonds with the two vicinal carboxylic groups, and induces the ligand to coordinate with copper ions to form the 2D structure. The obtained 2D Cu-based MOF (Cu-AIA) has been applied as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst in the aerobic epoxidation of olefins by using air as oxygen source. Without the aggregation problem of active sites in MOPs, Cu-AIA possesses much higher reactivity than MOP-1. Furthermore, the amino group of the framework has been used as a modifiable site through post-synthetic metalation (PSMet) to prepare a 2D MOF-supported Pd single-site heterogeneous catalyst, which shows excellent catalytic performance for the Suzuki reaction. It indicates that Cu-AIA can also work as a good 2D MOF carrier for the derivation of other heterogeneous catalysts.

In this study, a novel polyacrylate-co-vinyl imidazole hydrogel-supported palladium (Pd) catalyst (P(AA-co-VI)@Pd) was prepared through heat-initiated polymerization, starting with the formation of a complex between vinyl imidazole and palladium chloride, followed by the addition of 75% neutralized acrylic acid (AA), crosslinking agent, and initiator. The structure and morphology of the catalyst were characterized using ICP-OES, SEM, EDX, Mapping, FT-IR, TGA, XRD, XPS and TEM techniques. It was confirmed that the catalyst exhibited excellent compatibility with water solvent and uniform distribution of Pd.

Tailoring well-defined interfacial structures of heterogeneous metal catalysts has become an effective strategy for identifying the interface relationships and facilitating the reactions involving multiple intermediates. Here, a particle-particle heterostructure catalyst consisting of Pd and copper oxide nanoparticles is designed to achieve high-performance alkaline methanol oxidation electrocatalysis. The strong coupling particle-particle heterostructure catalyst induced a unique interfacial interpenetration effect to improve the interfacial charge redistribution and regulate the -band structure for optimizing the adsorption of CO intermediates on the catalyst.

Heterogeneous cobalt phthalocyanine has emerged as a promising molecular catalyst for electrochemical reduction of CO to methanol. Boosting both electrocatalytic durability and selectivity remains a great challenge, which is more difficult with unknown regulation factors for the HER side reaction. Herein, to discover the key to balancing the durability and selectivity, as well as HER regulation, we carried out GC-DFT calculations, based on which dynamic product distribution modeling was conducted to visually present the variation of the product distribution within the applied voltage range.

The active site density, intrinsic activity, and supporting substrate of cobalt phosphide catalysts are vital to their performance in alkaline water electrolysis. In this work, a CoP/CoP loaded on cellulose nanofiber-derived carbon aerogels (CP/CCAs) bifunctional electrocatalyst with a three-dimensional network and heterostructure is illustrated through sequential facile hydrothermal, freeze-drying, and phosphorylation processes. The three-dimensional network of carbon aerogels derived from cellulose nanofibers reveals a specific surface area of 183.

Although heterogeneous Fenton-like processes have attracted widespread attention in wastewater treatment, the mass leached active ions lead to secondary pollution and confuse the demarcation of reaction region. By constructing a constrained completely heterogeneous system and highlighting its reaction region concentrated within the slipping plane of particles, this work achieves efficient organic pollutants degradation without leaching of any free active metal components. Based on the Poisson-Boltzmann equation and electric double layer model, the specific existing of the constrained region is confirmed, and this neglected reaction region between solid interface and slipping plane in traditional heterogeneous Fenton-like reaction is clarified firstly.
