Breast cancer (BC) is one of the most lethal types of cancer throughout the world due its proliferation and invasion. PDZ domain containing ring finger 4 (PDZRN4) belongs to the LNX family, which has E3 ubiquitin ligase activity and is involved in the progression of cancer. However, the role of PDZRN4 in the progression of BC remains unknown. In the present study, the public database Oncomine was used to detect PDZRN4 expression for primary screening. BC tissues and matched normal tissues were collected for detection of expression and cohort analysis. BC cells were used for invasion and proliferation function tests and . The results revealed that both the mRNA and protein levels of PDZRN4 in the BC tissues were markedly reduced compared to normal tissues. The expression of PDZRN4 was significantly correlated with LNM, histological grade and perineural invasion. Prognostic analysis confirmed that PDZRN4 expression is an independent risk factor for overall survival and disease-free survival of patients with BC. The functional experiments demonstrated that knockdown of PDZRN4 significantly improved the invasive and proliferative abilities of BT-20 cells and . Furthermore, overexpression of PDZRN4 markedly inhibited the malignant aspects of MDA-MB-231 cells. Therefore, reduced PDZRN4 correlates with the progression of BC and may act as a novel prognostic marker for patients with BC.

Genome-Wide Analysis of Genetic Diversity and Selection Signatures in Zaobei Beef Cattle.

Animals (Basel)

August 2024

Laboratory of Genetic Breeding, Reproduction and Precision Livestock Farming & Hubei Provincial Center of Technology Innovation for Domestic Animal Breeding, School of Animal Science and Nutritional Engineering, Wuhan Polytechnic University, Wuhan 430023, China.

This investigation provides a comprehensive analysis of genomic diversity and selection signatures in Zaobei beef cattle, an indigenous breed known for its adaptation to hot and humid climates and superior meat quality. Whole-genome resequencing was conducted on 23 Zaobei cattle, compared with 46 Simmental cattle to highlight genetic distinctions. Population structure analysis confirmed the genetic uniqueness of Zaobei cattle.

Genomic Association Analysis of Growth and Backfat Traits in Large White Pigs.

Genes (Basel)

June 2023

Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding, College of Animal Science and Technology, Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing 210095, China.

The pig industry is significantly influenced by complex traits such as growth rate and fat deposition, which have substantial implications for economic returns. Over the years, remarkable genetic advancements have been achieved through intense artificial selection to enhance these traits in pigs. In this study, we aimed to investigate the genetic factors that contribute to growth efficiency and lean meat percentages in Large White pigs.

PDZRN4 (PDZ domain-containing RING finger 4), a member of the LNX (ligand of numb protein-X) family that regulates the levels of NUMB, plays a critical role in suppressing the proliferation and invasion of hormone-related malignant tumours. There are few studies on the role of PDZRN4 in the pathogenesis of prostate cancer (PCa). We aimed to examine whether PDZRN4 regulates the growth and development of PCa.

Comparison of multi-omics results between patients with acute myeloid leukemia with long-term survival and healthy controls.

Ann Transl Med

January 2022

State Key Laboratory of Experimental Hematology, National Clinical Research Center for Blood Diseases, Institute of Hematology and Blood Diseases Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College, Tianjin, China.

Background: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a group of highly heterogeneous diseases, for which approximately 35-40% of patients younger than 60 years old can be cured. However, the multi-omics characteristics and immune cell infiltration (ICI) status of adult long-term survival patients with AML patients compared with healthy controls are still relatively under-explored.

Methods: A total of 10 healthy transplant donors (control group) and 11 long-term survival patients with AML with sampling from 2019 to 2020 at the Institute of Hematology in the Hospital of Blood Diseases were enrolled.
