Calcium D-pantothenate (Ca D-P) and calcium D-homopantothenate (Ca D-HP) (pantogam) exhibiting antagonism in a number tests of pharmacological screening were shown to inhibit the absorption of [14C]-GABA (0.2 microM) by the rat brain cortex slices (3 mm) incubated in calcium-free medium. The effect of Ca D-HP manifests at its low concentrations (10(-6) M) and that of Ca D-P at high concentrations (10(-6) M). The data obtained are discussed in relation to the possible influence of the anion and cation components of the studied compounds.

Background: Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a prevalent male sexual disorder, commonly associated with hypertension, though the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood.

Objective: This study aims to explore the role of Fatty acid synthase (Fasn) in hypertension-induced ED and evaluate the therapeutic potential of the Fasn inhibitor C75.

Materials And Methods: Erectile function was assessed by determining the intracavernous pressure/mean arterial pressure (ICP/MAP) ratio, followed by the collection of cavernous tissue for transcriptomic and non-targeted metabolomic analyses.

The objective of this study was to compare fermentation profile and microbial diversity from rumen samples collected using a rumen cannula (RC) or stomach tube (ST) in lactating dairy cows. Three ruminally cannulated lactating dairy cows were used in a 3 × 3 Latin square design. The experimental period was 28 d and rumen fluid was collected 4 h after feeding on d 22 and 26 of each experimental period.

Methane (CH) emissions from the coal industry represent a substantial portion of anthropogenic CH emissions from energy-related activities. China ranks as the world's largest coal producer, where Shanxi Province is one of its major coal production regions and accounts for 20.7 % of the national total coal production.
