Based on the first-principles calculation, the configurations of different metal overlayers on the monolayer NbC (MXene) (M/NbC) (M = Rh, Ir, Pd, Pt, Ag, Au) were studied aiming to find a kind of complex system with high CO-tolerance and high CO conversion efficiency. Combined with the stability of the composite systems and their adsorption properties on small gas molecules, Ag/NbC was screened out and further tested for CO oxidation reaction. By comparing the energy barriers of different reaction pathways, we concluded that CO oxidation reaction could be carried out on Ag/NbC var the LH mechanism with a small energy barrier of 0.35 eV. The rate-determining step was the oxidation of CO by the adsorbed oxygen atom. The Ag/NbC showed good activity for CO oxidation, which would provide a theoretical basis for designing the electrode material for the proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs).

Understanding the interplay between gasotransmitters is essential for unlocking their therapeutic potential. However, achieving spatiotemporally controlled co-delivery to target cells remains a significant challenge. Herein, we propose an innovative strategy for the intracellular co-delivery of carbon monoxide (CO) and nitric oxide (NO) gasotransmitters under clinically relevant wavelengths.

Chiral allyl amines are important structural components in natural products, pharmaceuticals, and chiral catalysts. Herein, we report a cobalt-catalyzed enantioselective reductive coupling of imines with internal alkynes to synthesize chiral allyl amines. The reaction is catalyzed by a cobalt complex derived from commercially available bisphosphine ligand utilizing zinc as the electron donor.

Interactions between manganese dioxides (MnO) and dissolved organic matter (DOM) have long been the subject of scientific inquiry. However, the effect of MnO crystallinity on the DOM fate remains unclear. Herein, we comprehensively investigate the adsorption, protection, and mineralization of DOM by MnO with various crystallinities (order of crystallinity: γ-30 < γ-90 < γ-120).

Peroxynitrite (ONOO/ONOOH) is a short-lived but highly reactive species that is formed in the diffusion-controlled reaction between nitric oxide and the superoxide radical anion. It can oxidize certain biomolecules and has been considered as a key cellular oxidant formed under various pathophysiological conditions. It is crucial to selectively detect and quantify ONOO to determine its role in biological processes.

Buchwald-Hartwig (BH) aminations are crucial for synthesizing arylamine motifs in numerous bioactive molecules and fine chemicals. While homogeneous palladium complexes can be effective catalysts, their high costs and environmental impact motivate the search for alternative approaches. Heterogeneous palladium single-atom catalysts (SAC) offer promising recoverable alternatives in C-C cross-couplings.
