As organizations continue to pursue achieving diversity and inclusion goals, how to propose and present efforts so as to maximize support and minimize resistance remains a challenge. The present set of studies, grounded in theory on the Attributional Analysis of Persuasion, examined how the demographics of diversity promoters relate to supportive attitudes and behaviors of others through perceptions of promoter self-interest. Via an experimental paradigm (Study 1), we found that White promoters were perceived as less self-interested than Black promoters of a diversity initiative, which in turn predicted more positive attitudes and support for the promoted effort. Using a sample of workplace critical incidents (Study 2), we found that diversity promoters who were demographically matched to the group for which they were advocating were perceived as more self-interested than those advocating for causes for which they were not demographically matched. Theoretical and practical implications, as well as study limitations, are discussed. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2020 APA, all rights reserved).

Background: The Sec14 domain is an ancient lipid-binding domain that evolved from yeast Sec14p and performs complex lipid-mediated regulatory functions in subcellular organelles and intracellular traffic. The Sec14 family is characterized by a highly conserved Sec14 domain, and is ubiquitously expressed in all eukaryotic cells and has diverse functions. However, the number and characteristics of Sec14 homologous genes in soybean, as well as their potential roles, remain understudied.

Cigarette smoke (CS), an indoor environmental pollution, is an environmental risk factor for diverse neurological disorders. However, the neurotoxicological effects and mechanisms of CS on Alzheimer's disease (AD) progression remain unclear. We found that CS accelerated the progression of AD, including increasing β-amyloid (Aβ) plaque deposition and exacerbating cognitive decline.

Proline, a critical osmoregulatory compound, is integral to various plant stress responses. The gene, which encodes the rate-limiting enzyme in proline biosynthesis, known as ∆1-pyrroline-5-carboxylate synthetase, is fundamental to these stress response pathways. While the functions of genes in plants have been extensively documented, their specific roles in cotton remain inadequately characterized.

Terpenoids, abundant and structurally diverse secondary metabolites in plants, especially in conifer species, play crucial roles in the plant defense mechanism and plant growth and development. In , terpenoids' biosynthesis relies on both the mevalonate (MVA) pathway and the 2-methyl-D-erythritol-4-phosphate (MEP) pathway, with 1-hydroxy-2-methyl-2-(E)-butenyl-4-diphosphate synthase (HDS) catalyzing the sixth step of the MEP pathway. In this study, we cloned and conducted bioinformatics analysis of the gene from .

Abiotic stresses impose significant constraints on crop growth, development, and yield. However, the comprehensive characterization of the maize () () gene family under stress conditions remains limited. LOXs play vital roles in plant stress responses by mediating lipid oxidation and signaling pathways.
