Yolk sac tumor (YST) is a rare tumor that usually occurs in the first two decades of life. It is considered the second most common malignant germ cell tumor of the ovary, characterized by a rapid growth and a bad prognosis due to the frequent metastasis. We report the case of a 12-year-old girl who came to our observation for an acute abdominal pain. Clinical examination evidenced a vague mass in the suprapubic region and a lower abdomen tenderness, the US imaging revealed a complex lesion of the left ovary (19 x 13 cm) and the alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) resulted high (5858 ng/mL). Computed tomography (CT) revealed a large pelvic mass. The treatment consisted of debulking surgery of yolk sac tumor followed by 4 cycles of BEP protocol (Bleomycin, Etoposide, Cisplatin). After 3 years of follow-up there was no evidence of disease recurrence. (www.actabiomedica.it).

These tumors are known for their totipotent nature, capable of differentiating into various cell types. This case report presents a rare occurrence of mucinous cystadenoma in a patient who received chemotherapy for metastatic left non-seminomatous germ cell tumor (NSGCT) of the testis.

This study explores a method for producing sterile rainbow trout with maximum survival rates by using heat shock treatment to enhance growth characteristics and improve aquaculture practices.
A rare case of a pure yolk sac testicular tumour presenting in an adult with learning difficulties is presented. Pure yolk sac tumours are much more common in children, but when they do occur in adults, onset can be both insidious and aggressive. The best practice for identification involves the precise use of ultrasound, blood tests for tumour markers and FDG-PET/CT imaging for staging.
We report a case and follow-up of an adult male with intracranial yolk sac tumor (YST). Initially, the patient presented with abnormal high signals in the right basal ganglia on MRI, misdiagnosed as a cavernous hemangioma. However, within 2 years, the condition rapidly progressed into a large, hypervascular solid neoplasm leading to a basal ganglia hemorrhage.
