Blepharitis is a common ophthalmic condition with multiple etiologies and no definitive, universal treatment. The treatment modalities for managing lid margin diseases vary depending on the disease's cause, location, and severity. For anterior blepharitis, management options include eyelid hygiene with warm compresses, eyelid scrubs, baby shampoo, and over-the-counter eyelid cleansers.

Introduction: Lid-parallel conjunctival folds (LIPCOF) and conjunctivochalasis (CCH) are similar conditions that seem to be related to dry eye severity. In addition, there is a lack of studies on the topic of LIPCOF and CCH on dry eye symptoms in non-contact lens and contact lens (CL) wearers. Therefore, the aim of this study is to review the relationship of LIPCOF and CCH with dry eye symptoms in non-CL and CL wearers, as well as to report the treatment of dry eye disease (DED) in non-CL and CL wearers who present LIPCOF or CCH.

Evaporative dry eye (EDE) due to meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) is one of the common clinical problems encountered in ophthalmology. It is a major cause of dry eye disease (DED) and of ocular morbidity. In EDE, inadequate quantity or quality of lipids produced by the meibomian glands leads to faster evaporation of the preocular tear film and symptoms and signs of DED.

To investigate the effect of thermal pulsation treatment on meibomian gland function, ocular parameters and tear inflammatory cytokines compared with the warm compress group. Twenty-five participants with MGD underwent a 12-minute thermal pulsation treatment, while 25 participants with MGD underwent manual warm compress treatment. MGD related parameters, including meibomian gland function (MGE, MQ and lid margin), tear stability (NIKBUT, FBUT and LLT), tear secretion (SIT, and TMH), were examined and OSDI questionnaire was also obtained.

Purpose: Evaluate the efficacy and safety of LipiFlow thermal pulsation treatment system compared with lid massage combined warm compress in Chinese patients with meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).
Methods: Patients (n = 100 eyes, 50 subjects) diagnosed with MGD were recruited for this prospective, randomized, 3-month clinical trial. In Lipiflow group, patients (n = 50 eyes) received a single LipiFlow thermal pulsation system treatment.
