Immune surveillance depends in part on the recognition of peptide variants by T cell antigen receptors. Given that both normal B cells and malignant B cells accumulate mutations we chose a murine model of multiple myeloma to test conditions to induce cell-mediated immunity targeting malignant plasma cell (PC) clones but sparing of normal PCs. Revealing a previously unknown function for intracellular C3d, we found that C3d engaged T cell responses against malignant PC in the bone marrow of mice that had developed multiple myeloma spontaneously.

Effective treatment methods for stroke, a common cerebrovascular disease with a high mortality rate, are still being sought. Exosome therapy, a form of acellular therapy, has demonstrated promising efficacy in various diseases in animal models; however, there is currently insufficient evidence to guide the clinical application of exosome in patients with stroke. This article reviews the progress of exosome applications in stroke treatment.

In the present study, acellular cartilage matrix (ACM) was modified with poly-l-lysine/hyaluronic acid (PLL/HA) multilayers via detergent-enzyme chemical digestion and layer-by-layer self-assembly technology. This modified ACM was then loaded with Transforming Growth Factor Beta 3 (TGF-β3) and incorporated into a thermosensitive hydrogel (TH) to create a HA/PLL-ACM/TH composite scaffold with sustained-release function. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of this novel composite scaffold in promoting chondrogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) and facilitating osteochondral defect repair.

Background: To protect infants aged <2 months against pertussis, the United States recommends Tdap (tetanus toxoid, reduced diphtheria toxoid, and acellular pertussis) vaccination during each pregnancy. Data are limited on the strategy's effectiveness against pertussis in infants aged ≥2 months.
Methods: Pertussis case infants aged 2 to <6 months with cough onset between 1 January 2011 and 31 December 2014 were identified in 6 US states.
