Background: Women with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) often experience worse clinical outcomes compared to men, including higher rates of mortality, hospitalization, and congestion. However, the effects of sacubitril/valsartan on these outcomes, as well as on ventricular tachyarrhythmias, have not been well studied in women with HFrEF.
Methods: This study included consecutive series of patients treated with sacubitril/valsartan at University Hospital Mannheim from 2016 to 2020.

Background: The importance of nutritional status is underappreciated in patients with heart failure (HF). This study aimed to describe the range of the prognostic nutrition index (PNI), and the clinical characteristics and outcomes according to PNI, in patients with HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). The primary outcome was the composite of HF hospitalization or cardiovascular death.

Importance: Angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibition (ARNI) improves mortality among patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), ie, those with an EF of 40% or less.
Objective: To describe national longitudinal trends in ARNI prescribing patterns among hospitalized patients with HFrEF.
Design, Setting, And Participants: Using data from the Get With The Guidelines-Heart Failure (GWTG-HF) registry, hospitalized patients with HFrEF at 614 participating hospitals were identified.

Background: Sacubitril-valsartan is an angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) that is now preferred over angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE-Is) and angiotensin-II-receptor blockers (ARBs) for treating heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Primary medication adherence to a costly brand-name ARNI, compared to inexpensive generic ACE-Is or ARBs, is unknown.
Methods: This cohort study used a linked database of electronic health records and Medicare fee-for-service claims from a large integrated health care system in Boston to compare primary medication adherence among Medicare beneficiaries with HFrEF newly prescribed sacubitril-valsartan, those newly prescribed a generic ACE-I or ARB, and those switching from an ACE-I or ARB to sacubitril-valsartan.

Introduction: Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) guidelines recommend 'four pillars' of medical therapy and device therapy if left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) remains ≤35% after 3 months optimum medical therapy.We conducted the first study to examine the effects of optimisation to contemporary medical therapy on cardiac reverse remodelling, as demonstrated by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR).We hypothesised a proportion of patients would undergo beneficial remodelling and LVEF improvement above the threshold for complex device prescription after 6 months.
