One of the most recently developed heuristic optimization algorithms is dragonfly by Mirjalili. Dragonfly algorithm has shown its ability to optimizing different real-world problems. It has three variants. In this work, an overview of the algorithm and its variants is presented. Moreover, the hybridization versions of the algorithm are discussed. Furthermore, the results of the applications that utilized the dragonfly algorithm in applied science are offered in the following area: machine learning, image processing, wireless, and networking. It is then compared with some other metaheuristic algorithms. In addition, the algorithm is tested on the CEC-C06 2019 benchmark functions. The results prove that the algorithm has great exploration ability and its convergence rate is better than the other algorithms in the literature, such as PSO and GA. In general, in this survey, the strong and weak points of the algorithm are discussed. Furthermore, some future works that will help in improving the algorithm's weak points are recommended. This study is conducted with the hope of offering beneficial information about dragonfly algorithm to the researchers who want to study the algorithm.

Agricultural waste or agro-waste, including natural fibers and particles from various crop parts, is increasingly recognized as a significant contributor to environmental issues. However, from a circular economy perspective, these materials present an opportunity to be repurposed into new, eco-friendly products. The present study, specifically focuses on understanding the effect of different factors, such as the particulate loading and the size (coir and hBN - 1 to 5 wt%; Coir Powder size (100-200 μm) of the particles on composite's corrosion rates and water absorption properties.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, often linked to chronic inflammation. Our study aimed to probe inflammation pathways at the genetic level and pinpoint biomarkers linked to HCC patient survival.
Methods: We analyzed gene transcriptome data from 246 resectable stage I and II HCC patients from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA).

A robust Quantitative Structure-Property Relationship (QSPR) model was presented to predict the surface tension property of psychoanaleptic (psychostimulant and antidepressant) drugs. A dataset of 112 molecules was utilized, and three feature selection methods were applied: genetic algorithm combined with Ordinary Least Squares (GA-OLS), Partial Least Squares (GA-PLS), and Support Vector Machines (GA-SVM), each identifying ten pertinent AlvaDesc descriptors. The models were constructed using the Dragonfly Algorithm combined with the Support Vector Regressor (DA-SVR), with the GA-SVM-based model emerging as the top performer.

In recent years, the micro air vehicle (MAV) oscillations caused by thrust imbalances have received more attention. This paper proposes a dual-wing thrust balance model (DTBM) that can solve the above problem by iterating the modified rotation angle formula. The core control parameter of the DTBM model is the au angle, which refers to the angle between the wing surface and the stroke plane at the mid-stroke position during the upstroke.
