Many fabrication methods for microneedle (MN) involve harsh conditions and long drying time. This study aims to fabricate a dissolving MN patch in a simple and efficient manner under mild conditions, using a combination of thermal and photo polymerisation. The MN patch was fabricated by pre-polymerisation of vinylpyrrolidone solution with heating followed by photolithography. The heating temperature and time of pre-polymer solution curing were optimized based on viscosity measurement. The MN properties including shape, size, skin penetration, dissolution, moisture absorption were determined. The fabricated MNs were sharp and consistent. The heated N-vinylpyrrolidone solution required less UV exposure time, thus reducing the total fabrication time. The percentage of MN penetration in human cadaver skin was more than 33.9%. The MN was dissolved within 1-2 min in water, or 40 min in saturated water vapor.

Liquids undergo continuous deformation in the presence of external shear stresses; however, they are pinned between structures owing to their viscosity. Therefore, reshaping the liquids using their intrinsic material properties and structural interfaces is possible. In this study, we used the template-guided forming (TGF) method to reshape and produce oil patterns on flat and curved substrates.

A wax-based contact printing method to create microfluidic devices is demonstrated. This printing technology demonstrates a new pathway to rapid, cost-effective device prototyping, eliminating the use of expensive micromachining equipment and chemicals. Derived from the traditional Ukrainian Easter egg painting technique called "pysanky" a series of microfluidic devices were created.

Photolithography is a well-established fabrication method for realizing multilayer electronic circuits. However, it is challenging to adopt photolithography to fabricate intrinsically stretchable multilayer electronic circuits fully composed of an elastomeric matrix, due to the opacity of thick stretchable nanocomposite conductors. Here, we present photothermal lithography that can pattern elastomeric conductors and via holes using pulsed lasers.

Molecular tests for infectious diseases and genetic anomalies, which account for significant global morbidity and mortality, are central to nucleic acid analysis. In this study, we present a digital droplet LAMP (ddLAMP) platform that offers a cost-effective and portable solution for such assays. Our approach integrates disposable 3D-printed droplet generator chips with a consumer smartphone equipped with a custom image analysis application for conducting ddLAMP assays, thereby eliminating the necessity for expensive and complicated photolithographic techniques, optical microscopes, or flow cytometers.

Reducing the economic and environmental impact of industrial process may be achieved by the smartisation of different components. In this work, tube smartisation is presented via direct fabrication of a copper (Cu)-based resistive temperature detector (RTD) on their outer surfaces. The testing was carried out between room temperature and 250 °C.
