A compatible organic/inorganic nanocomposite film for a stretchable resistive memory device with high performance is demonstrated using poly(4-vinylpyridine)-block-poly(propyl methacrylate) (P4VP-b-PPMA) with zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticle. The PPMA soft segment is designed for reducing the rigidity of the active layer, while the P4VP block serves as a charge-trapping component to induce conductive filament and also a compatible moiety for inorganic nanoparticles through hydrogen bonding. The experimental results show that the P4VP-b-PPMA-based electrical memory device exhibits write-once-read-many-times memory behavior and an excellent ON/OFF current ratio of over 10 with a stable turn-on voltage (V ) around -2.0 V and stable memory behavior upon stretching up to 60% strain. On the other hand, P4VP-b-PPMA/ZnO nanocomposite film switches the memory characteristic to the dynamic random access memory behavior. The stretchable memory device prepared from the nanocomposite film can have a stretching durability over 40% strain and up to 1000 times cycling stretch-relaxation test. This work demonstrates a new strategy using nanocomposite films with tunable electrical characteristics and enhanced mechanical properties for stretchable electrical devices.

A stacked nanocomposite zinc-tin oxide/single-walled carbon nanotubes (ZTO/SWNTs) active layer was fabricated for thin-film transistors (TFTs) as an alternative to the conventional single-layer structure of mixed ZTO and SWNTs. The stacked nanocomposite of the solution-processed TFTs was prepared using UV/O treatment and multiple annealing steps for each layer. The electrical properties of the stacked device were superior to those of the single-layer TFT.

In this work, a nanocomposite film, designated as CS/PA, was fabricated by integrating chitosan (CS), porphyrinic porous coordination network (PCN), and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). PCN modified AgNPs was denoted as PCN-AgNPs (PA). The synthesis of PA was verified through transmission electron microscope, Zeta potential, hydrated particle size, element mapping.

Most previously reported susceptors for microwave welding are in powder form. In this study, a thin-film susceptor was employed due to its uniform heating rate and ease of handling. Silicon carbide nanowhisker (SiCNW) were incorporated into a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) matrix to create a nanocomposite thin film, which served as the susceptor.

The development of ultraviolet (UV) shielding materials is of great importance to protect human health and prevent the degradation of organic matter. However, the synthesis of highly efficient UV shielding polymer nanocomposites is currently limited by the agglomeration of inorganic anti-UV nanoparticles (NPs) within the polymer matrix and the limited absorption spectrum of UV shielding agents. In this study, highly effective manganese doped carbon quantum dots@halloysite nanotube composites (Mn-CDs@HNTs/PAS) were successfully synthesized by loading manganese-doped carbon quantum dots (Mn-CDs) into UV shielding effective halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) via the solvothermal method, followed by polymerization modification (PAS).

Polybenzimidazole (PBI) is a high-performance polymer known for its excellent thermal stability, mechanical strength, and chemical resistance, attributes that are derived from its unique structure comprising repeated benzene and imidazole rings. However, limitations such as relatively low thermal stability and moisture sensitivity restrict its application as a super engineering plastic. In this study, amide groups are incorporated into the PBI backbone to synthesize the copolymer poly(BI--A), effecting a structural modification at the molecular level.
