Ragweed, as an exotic invasive species, which is one of the most important allergens for hay fever, has been invading China for more than 80 years. The increasing number of people with hay fever makes effective treatment, as well as the prevention and control of pollen transmission critical. This article delves into a comprehensive research summary focusing on the allergenic properties of ragweed pollen, its pathogenic characteristics, epidemiological patterns, monitoring and control measures, as well as concentrated management approaches.

Allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) induces immune tolerance, showing the highest success rate (>95%) for insect venom while a much lower chance for pollen allergy. However, the molecular switches leading to successful durable tolerance restoration remain elusive. The primary outcome of this observational study is the comprehensive immunological cellular characterization during the AIT initiation phase, whereas the secondary outcomes are the serological and Th2-cell-type-specific transcriptomic analyses.

Background: Numerous studies have established that probiotics or prebiotics can relieve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (AR), but their mechanism of action remain underexplored. This study aimed to observe the clinical efficacy of probiotics combined with prebiotics in seasonal AR patients and explore their underlying mechanisms.
Methods: We conducted a prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial.

This case describes a patient with anaphylaxis caused by traditional Chinese medicine. Skin prick test with the traditional Chinese medicine decoction indicates that he was allergic to Suan Zao Ren. The patient had pollinosis and had never taken Suan Zao Ren before, thus we need to think the possibility of pollen food allergy syndrome.

Background: Intranasal antihistamines (INAH), corticosteroids (INCS), and their fixed combinations (INAH+INCS) are one of the cornerstones of the treatment of allergic rhinitis (AR). We performed a systematic review and network-meta-analysis comparing the efficacy and safety of INAH, INCS, and INAH+INCS in patients with AR.
Methods: We searched four electronic bibliographic databases and three clinical trial databases for randomised controlled trials assessing the use of INAH, INCS, and INAH+INCS in adults with seasonal or perennial AR.
