With 762 laboratories, the Global Measles and Rubella Laboratory Network (GMRLN) is the largest laboratory network coordinated by the World Health Organization (WHO). Like the Global Polio Laboratory Network, the GMRLN has multiple tiers, including global specialized laboratories, regional reference laboratories, national laboratories, and, in some countries, subnational laboratories. Regional networks are supervised by regional laboratory coordinators reporting to a global coordinator at WHO headquarters.

Ethiopia has made significant progress in the last two decades in improving the availability and coverage of essential maternal and child health services including childhood immunizations. As Ethiopia keeps momentum towards achieving national immunization goals, methods must be developed to analyze routinely collected health facility data and generate localized coverage estimates. This study leverages the District Health Information Software (DHIS2) platform to estimate immunization coverage for the first dose of measles vaccine (MCV1) and the third dose of diphtheria-pertussis-tetanus-Hib-HepB vaccine (Penta3) across Ethiopian districts ("woredas").

Measles is reemerging as a public health threat, raising important questions about disease vulnerability among childhood cancer survivors. This secondary analysis assessed the seroprevalence of anti-measles immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies as a marker of immune status in survivors of childhood cancer and associated demographic/treatment variables. Participants were childhood cancer survivors who were free of active disease, having routine blood studies drawn, and could provide documentation of having received two doses of measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine before their cancer diagnosis.
