Aim: This article discusses the challenges of international PhD nursing students and recommends strategies to support them.
Background: Approximately 10 percent of the students enrolled in research-focused nursing doctoral programs in the United States are non-US residents, challenging schools of nursing to examine ways to support these students.
Method: We searched five electronic databases using international student* AND doctoral OR graduate as search terms; we integrated the authors' experiences.
Results: Faculty and peer support can promote a smooth transition into the United States. Participating on research teams or school committees promotes academic socialization. Dissertation work has multiple unique challenges, including international relevance of topics, translation, funding, and location of the research.
Conclusion: Faculty advisers and universities can facilitate student adjustment. Once international students become familiar with the academic requirements and culture, they have the capacity to contribute rich, diverse perspectives that greatly enhance the quality of PhD education.

Background: Many children and adolescents with cerebral palsy (CP) experience cognitive difficulties, impacting their academic, social, and emotional well-being. A Danish study from 2023 revealed that merely 40% of individuals with CP complete their elementary school education, and previous neuropsychological studies have found that most children and adolescents with CP experience cognitive difficulties. Yet, cognitive functioning is often assumed rather than assessed, and CP follow-up programs focus predominantly on physical functioning.

Platelets are anucleate blood cells traditionally associated with hemostasis but now increasingly recognized for their multifaceted roles in immunity, inflammation, and tissue repair. Advances in platelet proteomics, employing high-throughput techniques such as mass spectrometry, have significantly enhanced our understanding of platelet biology and its clinical implications in transfusion medicine. Platelet proteomics offers a retrospective view of physiological and pathological changes over the platelet's 7-10-day lifespan, making it a unique tool for studying cumulative biological events.

Objective: This expert opinion presents provisional guidelines for addressing complications associated with Additively Manufactured Subperiosteal Jaw Implants (AMSJI®) in patients with severe maxillary atrophy. AMSJI®'s custom design, supported by finite element analysis (FEA), allows precise placement that avoids critical anatomical structures and minimizes complications relative to alternative solutions.
Materials And Methods: Data were gathered through firsthand experiences, direct communications, and insights from international workgroup meetings.
